"The beds are so comfortable and the staff are so friendly and helpful. I have been staying here for at least 5 years when I come to town I love how close all the restaurants and shopping are in walking distance."

"This hotel is beautiful on the outside, but there needs to be some renovations on the inside. You can tell that it’s definitely wear and tear. The Poole could use an upgrade I feel like and you can’t see the beach when you’re using the pool at all. The drinks are right, but they’re a bit pricey and they also have changed chefs a few times so the food is different without knowing because their website still has their old menus. Everything was good though, and the servers are really sweet and nice. Also, the ballet is very nice as well. Our sink was clogged the whole time we stayed so that was annoying."

"From my first inquiry with the owner/manager to a text asking if we needed anything, this was an amazing experience. Beautiful facility. Comfortable. Elegant. Welcoming and centrally located. I can't wait to visit again and stay there. "

"I was laying in the bed watching tv, when something caught my eye. It was a roach crawling on my pillow. I jumped up and tried to kill it, but it got away. I immediately called the front desk to ask for a room change, but the front desk clerk advised that they were completely book. I advised that I wasn't staying in that room and they had to do something. He asked if I'd like someone to come to the room to try to get rid of it. I said yes. The guy came and at first we couldn't find the roach. Eventually, we found it and he disposed of it. I had a restless night because I didn't know if more roaches was in the room. Needless to say, I will never stay at this hotel again."

"I was very disappointed in my stay. When I checked in I found that the fridge wasn’t working, there were no robes provided, if you wanted hot water in the shower or sink you would have to run the water for at least 5 min and the lighting was horrible. There was no makeup mirror and the brightest part of the room was the toilet, so if I wanted to read I would have to sit on the toilet. And to top it off when you got off the elevator the mildew smell in the halls was overwhelming. What was once a lovely hotel is now a high priced motel."

"We absolutely loved it here! The old time Victorian charm is everywhere in this mansion. Its location is perfect for a short walk to the strand for shopping and eats. It’s also just a 5 minute drive to the Seawall. The staff is amazing and very hospitable. Drinks are free at the evening social hour where you have a chance to meet other guests and staff. The breakfast each morning is delicious and comes with French press coffee brewing right at your table. We will definitely be back."

"Very cute little loft! It was just what we needed for one quick night in Galveston. Everything was clean and just as described. It was a little noisy at night with street noise, but next time I would just bring a sound machine to help drown it out. Overall it was a pleasant stay and we’ll recommend it to friends who want to stay on the Strand."

"This was second time staying at property, different units each. I find its location to be very convenient to the strand and close to the cruise terminals, but it’s enough blocks off the strand to be quiet. It’s a great value compared to most hotels in the area. The property management is great, kept and open dialogue the entire trip and checked in to make sure everything was ok. Trust me you can’t go wrong renting one of these units in the League Lots, or anything from Beachbox, they are fantastic to work with."
