Upon arrival, after traveling almost 12 hours, we were told that they had overbooked and we would need to spend the night at their sister resort. The manager kept telling us how great the sister resort was and that we probably would just want to stay over there and not come back to Bakour. He promised us a bottle of rum, romantic dinner on the beach for our anniversary, blah blah blah. When the driver dropped……

“For the price the stay was good. We were close to walk to the beach. We had loads of restaurant options near by. Smoothies and other breakfast spots too. Greenfit wellness center was close and excellent. The beach was marvelous and only a few minute walk. The pool at the hotel was nice. La Bruja had a great dinner. The room itself was not great. It worked though. No hot water. No daily room clean service. Alba was the guy at the hotel he took us to an excursion which was good. He……

“Rooms are in very poor condition, they try to make you sign a contract before seeing the room that states you have seen it and have “no complaints” and cannot be refunded. They also state if the food or conditions cause illness that could be “LIFE THREATENING” they will not be liable. If you don’t sign you can’t check in, so we had to sign under duress as we couldn’t find a new hotel for the same night. There’s also no beach access and sink water smells like sewage. We moved to Hotel HM Bavaro……

“I rarely leave reviews, but I want to warn others before booking. The photos do not reflect the actual condition of the studio, and this is not a beach property. We arrived around 11:00 PM due to flight and customs delays. Although the listing states the office is open until 11:00 PM, no one was available and the studio was left unlocked. We were later informed a cash electricity deposit was required ($10 per unit, three total), which was not disclosed in the Expedia listing. I contacted Expedia……

“Cocotal is my favorites place in bavaro, I do have my house in bavaro but I have decided to go in golf suit hotel for more safe and my kids love the pools, the working area, staff are exceptional.”
