Best Mission Beach Location

This was the best place for families with teenagers! Plenty of rooms and bathrooms for everyone! Accommodations were great and parking was a huge plus although backing into the garage was a bit of a challenge, however we didn’t have to drive much since everything was walking distance. The hosts were so helpful setting up the reservations and with advise about local restaurants and activities, and services. We absolutely loved the proximity to the beach and really enjoyed the daily yoga!

Steps to the beach in a great location

We had a great stay. It was stocked with everything we needed, just steps to the beach and restaurants. Easy check in and check out. The only issues with the unit are no airconditioning and very small parking space. The bedrooms are upstairs and all have fans. The ceiling fans make noise, so if you need it quiet to sleep bring earplugs. The bunk bed room doesn’t have a ceiling fan and the other fans didn’t work well enough to cool it. It was extremely warm. Luckily our kids were worn out and slept anyway. Stronger fans would help. The garage is tiny as to be expected. We just fit the minivan into it and had to squeeze out of one side. The bonus was guaranteed parking. I believe it’s the owners I communicated with. They were quick to reply. Great hosts! Overall it was a great place and would stay again.

Has potential but not quite what we expected.

I have never left a less then stellar review before on a rental. But I would be doing other VRBO’rs a disservice if I didn’t mention a few things that can ruin a vacation. There is NO air conditioning. Which isn’t abnormal in SD. But all the bedrooms are upstairs and have old, matted down carpet so the heat is stagnant in those rooms. You can open the windows for airflow but you’re one house away from Mission Blvd so take earplugs. Downstairs does stay a little cooler, our son left the upstairs bedroom and slept down on the couch. Parking is rough but that’s all of SD beach areas, if you have a loaded suv be sure to back it in or you won’t be able to get your stuff through the garage. You can open windows downstairs for air flow but a lot of them are accessible at night so you can only do it when you’re there. There is a big double door to the patio area but the screen on that was broken. And leaving doors open isn’t an option, there are flies everywhere all! the! time! 6:00 am coffee on the patio = fighting off flies. 6:00 pm dinner on the patio = fighting off flies. The hostess is wonderful and offered several times to “help” any way she could but I didn’t know how she was going to help the issues that bothered us, they’re part of the property.
