Perfect location, comfy apartment

Other than a glitch when we first checked in, our stay was great! The location is unbeatable. Half a block in from the beach so you don’t have all the noise and crowds going by your windows. Also, because it was third story, the views were great. Sunset views every night and sunrise views when I got up early enough.Well, apportioned, with lots of linens, cleaning supplies etc. TV could use an update- it’s quite small by current standards and hard to see for our aging eyes.Balcony was nice bonus, as was garage and laundry facilities. Building is not new but is well maintained.,

Ocean Sounds and Great View

Excellent location for the ocean, condo was set up with all the basics(so no immediate trip to the grocery store), everything worked well and was very clean. The downside is that the furniture is a bit dated and check in was somewhat awkward , although not difficult.

Perfect Spot for San Diego exploration

This was such a great place to stay while we explored San Diego. Great communication with owners. Steps to the ocean, walking distance to Belmont Park and Pacific Beach. So many great restaurants and bars within walking distance too. Super comfy bed and the perfect size for two people. Very secure building and the garage for parking was a plus. Note: the Washer and Dryer are coin laundry in the parking Garage (not in the unit itself).

Perfect for us

Loved the location, views of the ocean, safe secure parking and building. Inside details. The bed and blankets were comfortable. The bathroom was in good shape with nice functioning shower head and sinks. The unit was clean. Directions and overall communication was excellent. All the boxes were checked for us. We loved our stay, thank you!!

Love this darling apartment

Can't say enough good things. Love the apartment, location, community, and vendors. Only had one bad experience in a nearby beachwear store, but i did not let it ruin my stay. I love Mission Beach and this VRBO is sweet! Can't wait to return! Thank you George and Nora!

All Around Amazing!!

George and Nora are two of the nicest property owners out there! Communication was excellent. Instructions for the property were very detailed and easy to understand. Beautiful property that is within walking distance to shops, restaurants and the beach. Clean and cozy place. Highly recommended place to stay that is owned by two wonderful property owners. Wonderful winter stay, 2023.

We stayed at the Penthouse on the Beach and it was truly a gift to us! The views are spectacular, location was great, and the hosts were wonderful. George and Nora went out of their way to make us comfortable. They are the perfect hosts, and we absolutely hope to stay there again in the future. Thank you!

Beach vacation

The place was great for three people overlooking the ocean and listening to the ocean at night we're one of the highlights. Centrally located so we didn't have to drive the car great place. Look forward to staying again.

Great view and location

This was a treasure find! The property 3rs story sits above the plain if sight to give excellent views of the ocean, the beach and views of Mission Bay. It's a hop skip and a jump from the beach so now worries about finding a restroom or taking a quick break. The owners are wonderful and very gracious helping you very step of the way finding your rental as beach housing is very crowded. Helpful hint is to print out a map of the location, instead of relying on your phone and talking to the owner for help at the same time.

Had a great time!

Really enjoyed my stay here! I arrived late at night and very tired after a tough travel experience, and the owner graciously talked me through access to the unit, and asked me to call him at any time "night or day" with any problems or concerns. The unit was a bit dated, but it was very clean and the location was perfect! After an overnight fishing trip I overslept on the morning of checkout, and the owner had to wake me up! Despite the fact that I wasn't an ideal tenant, he was very gracious, patient and understanding! I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing time in a comfortable space in a perfect location!

Loved our visit

The owners met us at check in.. and were so sweet. Loved meeting them. And their little condo is clean, comfortable, and convenient to the beach and shops. We left the windows open at nite to hear the surf just outside. Great view from up there and a very secure building. We'd definitely stay there again.

The sound of the ocean is still ringing in my ears

Ahhhhh - doors open and we are instantly cool with the sound of the ocean echoing in the condo. It is amazing! The kitchen is well stocked with appropriate kitchenware. The coffee press was used every morning to make our coffee. The cookie sheets were used to make the bacon. The table was used to sit and eat breakfast, drink our coffee and watch the waves roll in. You are close to the beach and many other amenities. We loved the steakhouse that is steps away. The happy hour flat iron steak for 14$ was delicious! Olive coffee shop is a must visit. My hubby loves the yummy bread products. The owners are wonderful to work with. I shared with them some feedback and they stated they would consider implementing the ideas! They are very considerate and punctual. Booked for next year before we left! See you in 2019!

Our first visit to San Diego

Our choice of this property was one we are quite happy we made. Outstanding location, free parking, amazingly clean and well decorated. Owned by two of the nicest people you can meet. George and Nora are "good people" and it was our pleasure to meet them. They and their property enhanced out trip and added to our memories of San Diego.

Excellent location, views, and owner hospitality!

Totally enjoyed 4 nights at this condo in the heart of my favorite Mission Beach/Bay area! Walked to all my favorite places, and found some new ones. The views were incredible and the owners were extremely gracious and hospitable, even providing us some delicious oranges from there tree at home. Thanks for the wonderful stay! I would definitely book this place again!

Amazing Stay in SD!

My fiance and I were in town for a friend's wedding and decided to stay at the "Penthouse on the Beach," and we LOVED it! The space was clean, convenient, and the owners made us feel 100% welcome and comfortable. The views of both bodies of water were nice, but it was the sound of the ocean (the spot is literally a block from the Pacific) that we found utterly amazing and calming. If we find ourselves back in San Diego, we'll definitely keep our fingers crossed that this place is available to us again.
