"Very pleasantly surprised. The new owners are really going to town, modernising everywhere, from bedrooms to restaurant, lobby, everywhere. Its now a very chic / boutique place. We only had breakfast there but that too was very good, well coked and good portions. attention to detail and eco friendliness is evident too, and the hosts said they will soon be upgrading the outdoor pool to solar powered heating. It's in a really good location, a short walk from the 'world' famous Chine and old...

"Lovely heritage hotel and endearing staff who made you feel at home. The Harbor View is a bit of a misnomer as the harbor has been eclipsed by a transportation hub, so the main view is of a bus station. Harbor View rooms are at the front of the hotel, which is also the sunny side, so get very warm on nice days and the hotel does not have air conditioning in the rooms ( only common areas). Breakfast was excellent."

"The hotel is well located in a busy modern designer precinct and close by to the Old Historic Port of Portsmouth. The room was more than adequate for our needs with one exception. The room was a double for two people occupancy, but only one chair provided. However, no different to other hotels we have stayed in. Maybe one day the hotels will realise that both occupants require to sit down. The staff were excellent, very welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Even pointed out which...

"Lovely stay in this hotel with so much character. I did find the kitchen extractor fan outside our window a bit noisy but it didn’t disturb our sleep as it stopped by bed time. Staff were all lovely and friendly. It was lovely to read about Kepler in the booklet in our room"

"Modern hotel with lift. Good size room and very clean. Easy parking and a good breakfast. Gas/petrol station next door. Park close by. Room had a slightly musty smell. Not sure why. "

"The room is very small and warm. A fan was in the room and the window opens ,but it was hard to sleep. We could walk from the cruise ship and the next morning to the bus station and we could drop off luggage and explore. It was clean and quiet. "
