“The property is amazing and the staff were polite and very attentive. It’s a negative for me that I couldn’t take my 8 year old in the outdoor pool, but I’m sure if i wasn’t there with a child I’d appreciate a kid-free zone. The indoor pool was pretty filthy, with some wrappers and things floating in the water. The room service food was surprisingly just okay, with watery omelettes, minimalist potatoes for breakfast, a namesake pork sandwich that leaned toward a Cuban but took a left hand……

“Parking was easy but on the street, not particularly secure, and expensive - $35/day. I didn’t check that before I made the reservation - much to my dismay. I never met any staff but they were very responsive. The coffee/rec area was very nice. The rooms were very tasteful, clean, and comfortable. Great location. ”

“The staff were wonderful: they cheerfully accommodated our wish to access our room early. Everyone was kind and helpful. The rooms were spotless, the bed extremely comfortable. The location is perfect: the Thaxter is in the heart of the old port city and you are surrounded by beautiful historic buildings, good restaurants and interesting shops. We will gladly stay there again.”

“Room was beautiful and the location was great. Contactless which I wasn't sure about but was great. Easy code to get into the building and our room and check out was just as easy. Lovely Tea/Coffee bar with snacks. Will stay here again.”

“Mark, at the front desk, was amazing! He took time to explain all the hotel features and even the area, have dining options and tips for exploring the area. He was excellent! The room itself was pristine! Beautiful, so spacious and had everything we needed for a relaxing night! Would 100% recommend the Grasshopper Inn to anyone coming to Maine! Loved our stay!”
