“Room was satisfactory. Folks at the front desk were terrific! Friday’s breakfast left something to be desired; the coffee was especially questionable. Saturday’s breakfast was much better. I still did not drink the coffee, though.”

“The woman that checked us in was very polite and helpful. The room was very clean. All the necessary soaps and linens were available. The bed was a little softer than we are used to, but still very comfortable. The A/C unit was easy to control. Breakfast the next morning was plentiful and fresh! A good assortment of cereals, bakery items, juice, hot items (make your own waffles, a pre-made omelet tea, sausage patties and home fries). Would definitely book this hotel again.”

“Inside pool was cold. Hot tub had foam on top that gathered scum. Shower dripped. Fixtures needed updating. Drain was plugged. Seemed like the maintenance person was fired or on strike. Breakfast was good. People were friendly and accommodating.”

“We enjoyed our overnight at Lamie's. We stayed in the older section and the brick wall and 4 poster beds added a homey, authentic feel to the vibe of the Old Salt Tavern next door. Beds comfortable, room clean. The rooms & bathroom are a little small but perfect if your plan doesn;t include spending lots of time in your room. We came to visit friends in the area and had lunch and dinner at the Old Salt which was really convenient to just come downstairs rather than having to drive somewhere……

“The location of this property was great, on the perimeter of downtown Portsmouth which is a wonderful little city. The staff was very friendly, polite and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, both for good selection and the taste. My biggest complaint is that it was very noisy in my room. The AC unit is the loudest I've ever heard. A few times I thought it was a nearby train when it started running. Also the people in the room above me woke me up at 1 AM doing something. I didn't hear voices……

“Mary & Tracy were the best hosts making sure we had fresh towels, suggesting restaurants & things to do, etc. The upper deck was welcoming with wonderful views. The room was clean, a comfortable bed with fridge and microwave. Ocean is right across the street.... bring your chairs!”
