So this review is basically not on the property but the management company that manages this cabin. I would give it negative stars if I can. I normally do not leave reviews but I want to let others know so that they do not get treated the way I did. So when I booked the property, on HomeAway website, it said check in is 3PM and check out is 11AM. When I received the check in instruction email, which BTW did not come right away and I had to call the management company to send it to me, it said 4PM check in and 10AM check out. I called them to ask them if they can honor the 3 and 11 since that is WHAT IT SAID AT THE TIME OF BOOKING and their attitude was not anything helpful, courteous, feeling sorry but WHATEVER. That is how we operate and you need to live with it. Not a single person said I am sorry nor feel bad about it. We ended up coming and checking in at 4 anyways and left before 10 but it was their attitude that made me so mad. I called HomeAway and HomeAway Representative who was so helpful and professional said she got the same attitude, Big Bear Destination representative said we state on OUR website that check in is 4 and out is 10, and he does not know what HomeAway is so does not care to honor anything. After HomeAway rep spending 30+ minutes, which she said since I booked on HomeAway website, they have to honor what it stated at the time of booking, he said yeah, since no one is checking in the day we are leaving he can honor 11. After so many calls and long talks, it was that easy. Their attitude was so horrible, no customer service in mind at all and they did not give a damn about helping people who stay at their cabins. After all, the cabin had a good view but was not clean enough, there were cob webs everywhere, dusty, there was a blonde hair on the pillow (and no one in my family has blonde hair, so we know it is not from us), the pots and pans were old and so scrapped, and there was chunks of hair stuck on the shower wall. 5 stars for the view but the rest was horrible.. ah, BTW if you have a big SUV or a truck the parking is very hard as well, the drive way is narrow and curved. The only one that I want to give 5 stars is the HomeAway rep who was so helpful and had best customer service mind. Big Bear Destination, you guys need to do better cleaning as well as some training on your people to improve customer service. The worst ever.
