"Our family of two adults, two kids (10 & 8) and two dogs loved this magical home. The location was amazing, the house was clean and beautifully decorated with a vintage flair. Courtney was so kind and easy to communicate with. Having a spot right on the river was so fun. It was too cold to swim but that didn’t stop our girls and pups from enjoying it. The location is so close to downtown and easy to get to great hikes nearby. Courtney has information and places to go and places to eat at the home. The bunk beds are in a shed outside but so fun. We bunked with our kids in it one night and were pleasantly surprised at the fact that we were warm enough and slept well. There are walkie talkies to use also if needed for the bunk shed. Loved our stay and planning on coming back."

"We came here for a wedding in Carmel and this property accommodated our family beautifully. It was spacious, well-appointed and very private, with gorgeous grounds. We will definitely rent this property again for a future family vacation!"

"Had a lovely stay at Bernardus once again! Nice, cozy and accommodating rooms made a nice relaxing stay. We went to the spa one day and all the services were lovely. We also ate at the restaurant and bar and had some great meals. Overall, staff was friendly and we enjoyed our visit. Only small nit would be that during our stay there seemed to be quite a bit of younger children (4-6 year olds) and they were running around quite a bit during the morning & day. It didn't bother us but I did notice there was more noise as they were joyfully going about. Didn't recall this from our first stay but guess it just depends on when you are there."

"This was the perfect hideaway for our romantic weekend away from home. The amenities were great, place was clean and comfortable. Directions were accurate and useful. Fair warning, coming out of the driveway is a bit of a challenge, especially if you're not used to mountain driving or limited forward visibility over the hood."
