“We arrived and wasn't too sure which of the pubs we were staying in. One of the girls was really helpful.
The room was extremely small but absolutely not an issue. It was relatively clean, the only thing's that were a bit of a put off - the stains on the chair in the room, cooling fan covered thick in dust, bath matt was mouldy and the bathroom had black mould on the ceiling.
Despite this the bedding and towels were all nice and clean. Weve never had a shower so hot before in any hotel which……

“Great location in town centre. Stay spoiled by sewer odour in bathroom that couldn’t be disguised by the scented bottle they put in there. Property also didn’t reply to an email I sent about an item I left behind in the room.”

“Very nice staff. Straight forward public house atmosphere. Beer tasting and band playing downstairs well into the evening, but not a significant issue. Nice breakfast and really beautiful surroundings.”

“lovely pub owned by the Lowther Estate. Stayed 3 nights while attending a wedding at Askham hall 6 minutes drive away.
Food was well above usual pub food, and sourced from the Estate.
Recently refubished.
Walls a little thin and you could hear voices from room next door. Also no lift and original worn stone stairs to bedrooms, so may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.
Staff helpful. by the second day when they realised I liked fresh milk for my tea in the bedroom, they put a fresh……
