El Prado Millicent Rogers Museum Hotels

"Room was extremely clean, but the furniture is in need of an overhaul. Had expected a whirlpool bath but shower only, though shower itself was top notch. Beds need an upgrade as well, most hotels of the caliber have gone hybrid foam or hybrid coil. TV is too small given room size which is quite spacious. A scolding from the valet for improper check-in didnt sit well either. Matter of fact, the hotel might consider a conversation about quest etiquette with the whole valet staff. Gorgeous hotel and grounds. Close to central Taos which is a plus. "

"The house is nicely furnished and has great sunset and sunrise views. However, it was not clean. When I brought this to the owner's attention, she was dismissive and then became hostile and said I left too much hair in the shower and my long black hair was everywhere. Apparently, I was also expected to clean before I left.The biggest issues I had were: 1. One bathtub did not drain well. When I got the water to temperature, I went to let the water in the tub drain before starting the shower and found blobs of shampoo/conditioner floating in the water. I ended up buying supplies and getting the tub to drain and then cleaning it. 2. A bathmat and hand towel both appeared dirty. I thought perhaps these were both just stained (the hand towel looked like it could have be stained with makeup foundation) but I tried washing them anyway, and they came out white and clean. 3. I had to vacuum the floor in all the areas we were (we didn't use the game room or the upstairs bedroom) and the couch, which had pet hair and crumbs (owner refuses to acknowledge despite pictures). I had a few other concerns, but these were the main ones. I would say that if you rent here and have issues, don't expect support from the owner, who went looking for issues with me once I raised mine. She says she walked the house before we checked in and none of these were problems, so I'm wrong. I've stayed in vrbos with issues and still given 4-5 stars depending on owner responsiveness, but cannot here."

"Wonderful place. Wonderful experience. We had everything we needed and more. Great for a ski trip. Great location for going to the mountain and into town. Beds are comfortable. The area is quiet. The hot tub was great. The yard is sizable for games. We really enjoyed our stay."

"Maura’s sweet apartment is beautiful and a perfect place for 2 people. It is an easy trip up to the ski valley. I am a return guest and would stay again. "

"The house was very nice- plenty of space for people to sleep and hang out. We were about 25mins from the ski slope and a short drive into the main area of town where all the restaurants are. Would stay again!"

"Casa Abuela was a wonderful place to stay for my famiy and i (4 total). Don't let the humble exterior fool you. The house is truly great. It had everything we needed (full kitchen set up), washer/dryer, comfortable beds and pullout sofa, good wi-fi, heated floors) and is located above a bluff so we had a commanding view of the mountains! My only advice is that being located a few minutes from town and off a dirt road, you may want to arrive before dark. Google Maps is correct, but since the house is in the back of the owner's house, it's better to have a bit of daylight left. "
