Housekeeping staff were very attentive, and overall the staff was exceptional. Our pool staff, Domingo, was phenomenal! Excellent personable customer service, meeting needs before they were known. He and his poolside coworkers were so friendly and took caring to a new level.

Resort is quite small with not much room to hang out in the evenings and lobby is not air conditioned. Restaurant and bar staff were very attentive and kind, they made our trip great,.. managment was less than helpful when a member of our party got injured and unfortunately soured our experience. Best part of this resort is proximity to 5th ave. If good food and 5th ave are top priorities I recommend this hotel. If you like evening entertainment and a more sprawling property I would suggest one of the bigger resorts along the coast.

Before coming to Playacar Palace Resort, I called the palace billing department to ask if I could pay the hotel fee with cash. As per Palace billing department, I could pay the hotel fee with cash when we arrive at the resort. The maximum amount that they could get in cash was 1,500 USD. However, the resort did not accept cash when we arrived at the resort. The resort could only receive credit card to pay the hotel fee. I was frustrated because the information that I received from the billing department was not accurate.

The air conditioner did not work well , we would sweat so much specially in the night. The buffet wasn’t that good , food was raw, Couldn’t wear a bikini either, couldn’t wear jerseys or sandals at the other restaurants, The phone from the room didn’t work , so We couldn’t get room service easily, My friends Fire alarm turned on for no Reason and they took 30 mins to turn it off. Tv and/or Internet didn’t work well either and they have not fixed it yet. They charged us double for van service. We only had 1 restroom for a family of 5!

Wonderful resort! Great location. Check in staff needs improvement. My GF did receive our Gold membership upgrade and, the front desk agent in charge was rude and could not find our confirmation. I gave her both the hotel and Expedia confirmations and instead of being helpful, she accused me of not being in the correct resort which was very insulting.
