The property location is unique and so beautiful. Rooms are spacious and near to everything, small resort and walkable both ways to beach and to entrance. Beach is amazing and pools are good, bars and snack bars are excellent. What I did not like, low food varieties, can be much better. Reservation to Mexican restaurant was so hard, you have to wake up early to reserve a place over there from reception, and must be on same day. Room A/C was so weak and room phones were not working. I did complaint three times at reception desk, and after a day passed someone came over and did not do any improvement to A/C nor fixed the phones.It was short stay but loved the location and style, management should give more care for quick and good maintenance. Plus better food at restaurant and I will give them 10 next time.

The food was very poor quality. The beach was covered with seaweed. The smell was like rotten eggs and they water was chocolate brown. The service and facilities were very nice though. We traveled to Cozumel and stayed there so we could get into the water.

Me gusto la ubicacion aunque si no te mueves en taxi o alguien que sepa moverse, y a eso le sumamos que al menos telcel no tiene buena cobertura es un poco confuso, pero ya adentro del hotel es otra situacion, ya que no necesitas nada del exterior. Nosotros visitamos el temazcal con la sra Aurora y fue muy linda experiencia y recomendable, las instalaciones del spa son muy amigables y especiales. Lo que no me gusto fue la distinción de trato por parte del personal de bartender de bar de alberca entre personas rubias y personas latinas, por mas que deje propina el trato siguio siendo diferente. Fue lo unico que no me parecio agradable. La vista del mar es espectacular y se que no esta a su alcance el tema del sargazo, pero quitando eso esta especial el hotel.

The front desk employees were very kind and the Chula Vista restaurant staff were the friendliest and most attentive people ever! The food was delicious and our favorite night was when they served the tacos al pastor, with an actual trompo. We stayed a total of 6 days and every employee we interacted with was nice and very helpful; starting with the group bookings employee, the gift shop employees to the cleaning crew. The hotel is a true retreat in nature and the immense amount of greenery creates a peaceful and calming atmosphere. It felt great getting back to a clean room every night thanks to room service. The person in charge of hiring the staff is doing a great job because this is by far one of the best teams we have ever encountered.

Very disappointed with this hotel. Poor quality services: smelly room with a view of the back of the hotel, mediocre meals, very disappointing all-inclusive package. The beach was full of uncleaned sargassum. We were supposed to be refunded for 2 days of the all-inclusive package — the manager even signed a refund agreement. But once we left, we never heard back and the refund was never processed. Avoid this place! Photos coming soon.

We stayed at The Reef Playacar as a last minute change of plans while we arrived in PDC. As we arrived, the staff was very nice and upgraded our room as it was our Honeymoon. The servers and bartenders were all very nice and we had minimal problems with the language barrier. Food at the buffet was mediocre and kinda feel like it was geared towards the bland American cuisine. Late night tacos on the other hand were amazing. The biggest issue we experienced at The Reef was how pushy the front staff was about their “platform” and how hard they pushed it on us. Almost felt like they were shoving it down our throats and when we said we weren’t interested, their demeanour towards us changed almost instantly and we didn’t feel as welcome or comfortable there. Cleanliness of the property was good, but minor things like rusty shower door hinges in the room left a lasting impression
