"The hotel itself is absolutely amazing. There is a little patio in the middle with a couple fountains, and inward facing balconies on every floor. They weren’t in the room, but sort of like part of the hallway, almost. I stepped out there to smoke instead of having to go all the way down. The next morning I asked for a late check out at 7am, but they told me they couldn’t do it because too many other people had asked to check out late… I don’t know, I’ve stayed in over 90 hotels in NYC and DC and I tend to ask for a late check out. This is the first place in Manhattan or DC that told me they couldn’t do a one hour extension on the check out time. I understand the problem, but it just seemed unlikely she really couldn’t do it. I was surprised as it was literally the first time that has happened. That being said, check in was a breeze and they have a guy standing to open the door for you all the time. Pretty fancy. I didn’t find myself having to carry my own luggage up the front 1.5 story stairs. I’m like a 120lb woman and the bag was kind of big. But I think the guy was busy. I did ask him directly to carry it down the steps for me on my way out. Great location. Beautiful rooms. Lovely building. I will be back. "
