“The nostalgia of this little hotel was absolutely amazing. There was a college size refrigerator, a full size microwave and a little coffee pot. It was amazing and the people were fantastic. You could tell that it hadn't been updated in many years but still very clean”

“It was a comfortable place to sleep. Breakfast was limited, but had enough to eat.”

“Older hotel but extremely clean. My only complaint was the breakfast. Very minimal selection. The coffee pot was nearly empty. My husband only got half a cup and I got none. There was no one there to refill it and nothing for us to make a pot ourselves my advice would be just plan in going acrossthe street to the truck stop for your breakfast.. Other than that the hotel was not bad.”

“The staff were very helpful. The room was okay and what you would expect for the price. When I pulled back the window curtain the outside pane was cracked and there was green slime growing between the panes. Gross. Again the staff were friendly and helpful.”

“The location was convenient but the road construction taking place was inconvenient. The rooms have been renovated very nicely! However, the Expedia site shows a price of $59 a night when it’s first opened then once you begin to reserve the room the price changes to $65 a night. The blue bubble states, “ what you see is what you pay.” but the price goes up once you begin the reservation process? What’s up here?”

“Cute little cottages right on historic Route 66! Spotlessly clean, and the property is well maintained. Check-in was quick, with just a phone call to the number provided and a text message with a picture of a photo ID. We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely return when we are next in Joplin. Only glitch was with communication. I tried, unsuccessfully, to ask questions for clarification purposes. No answer by text or phone message either of the two times. It would be a great……

“The Guest House in Carthage is your basic 1960’s Motel that has been renovated with updated interiors and a good kiss of maintenance on the outside. Everything was clean. Nothing was particularly special, but it was what I needed near the end of a long motorcycle journey. The gentleman who checked me in was professional, kind, and polite, even lending me his carport to protect my bike from the elements and provide a modicum of security. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it……
