Top of the Rock

Top of the Rock
Enjoy the New York panorama from the site of an iconic photo depicting workers taking a lunch break on a construction beam high in the sky.

The Top of the Rock Observation Deck is a skyscraper terrace featuring excellent views of the city and plenty of fun exhibits. It offers one of the best panoramas in New York and is set across three outdoor levels in the sky. Capture photos of the Manhattan skyline and pick out your favorite attractions from this popular spot.

Ride the Sky Shuttle up to the observatory section on the 67th floor in less than 1 minute. Enter the Atrium Lobby and gaze up at the sparkling Joie chandelier by Swarovski. The lovely lighting installation is one of the largest of its kind, made up of 14,000 crystals with fiber-optic illumination.

Browse the intriguing works of art and relics in the Mezzanine Exhibit. It chronicles the story of the tower and the accompanying Rockefeller Center.

Embark on the interactive Beam Walk to follow in the footsteps of daring construction workers. Pause for a photograph in this iconic spot. The site also has a theater showing a short film about the art and history of this tower.

Bring plenty of quarters to use in the coin-operated binoculars for a closer look at the area’s main attractions. Choose between morning, afternoon and evening for a range of views. Sunset offers some of the most popular moments. Marvel at the Radiance Wall of glass panels and crystal clusters. Try the fun Breezeway attraction, where colors follow you around a room.

Browse the diverse products available in the Top of the Rock Shop. The store sells bags, umbrellas, hats and posters, among many other items.

Purchase a timed ticket online for a precise slot to visit the observation deck. The attraction opens daily from morning until midnight.

The Top of the Rock Observation Deck is just south of Central Park in Lower Manhattan. Take the subway to stops on either side of the tower. Explore the surrounding area to see other gems, such as Madison Square Garden, the Museum of Modern Art and Carnegie Hall.
