“Excellent fishing!! The place was everything that we needed for a nice relaxing week. ”

“Great overall. Cabin was clean and cozy but a little heavy with furniture to navigate around. No toliet so thank gooodness I packed some and left a couple rola for the next guests. I’m convinced the giant tadpoles ate all the fish…not even a nibble. The hill going up to the cabin can be tough for someone with health issues. Big rocks along the shoreline makes it dificult to get in the water. Overall, it was a great stay with a nicely secluded can in the woods. My favorite part was the……

“This is such an awesome place for a family vacation! Lots of places to play and hang out with family. We really loved the kitchen, screened in porch, fire pit, putting green a comfortable beds! The hot tub and pool table area was the favorite hang out spot for us!! We were sad to leave!!!”

“This rental is a perfect place for a small family or two couples to base their Lake Superior adventure from. There’s enough room for everyone to have their own space as well as room for everyone to get together to play a game or share a meal. Wi-Fi was great and kitchen was stocked appropriately.”

“The cabin was clean, spacious, and a cozy place to relax! The kitchen and dining space made for a great place to make family meals together. We enjoyed renting the pontoon and cruising around the lake. The property has many different outside gathering spaces that we took full advantage of! We had 10 adults and 2 kids and this cabin fit us all comfortably. We had a wonderful stay- thank you for creating a warm and inviting cabin for families to create memories in! ”

“What a great property! My wife and I had our two sets of parents with us for a long weekend in DC. We loved having Lakewood Lodge as our home base for adventures around the county, as well as our refuge when it was time to relax, nap, or cook dinners in. We loved unwinding in the evenings in front of the three-season porch's fireplace with glasses of wine. Beds were all comfy. Kitchen was well equipped. The only thing that could have been better is that a few of the light bulbs around the house……

“I met with some friends for a writing retreat, and we had a wonderful time in no small part to how great this VRBO was. It’s spacious, well-equipped, and private. ”

“It was very private and quiet. It was close enough to town to bike back and forth. The cabin was clean and well stocked. The porch was lovely but did have a couple of gaps for mosquitos to get in. I brought some 3m Thermocell and that helped with mosquitos. The stairs are not for the faint at heart or if you get up a lot at night. I alway hate the extra cleaning fees as I don’t make a mess and to me, that is the cost of doing business. The local taxes are high too. ”

“The Whistling Turtle Chalet is an amazing property! We had 5 adults and 5 children (ages 3-9) and so loved the spaciousness of the chalet, awesome movie room, toy area with futon tepee, fire pit, pedal boat, pontoon, beach swimming area and the list goes on! Everything we needed (and more) was available to us in the chalet. All the thoughtful touches were also very much appreciated! We will definitely be back!”

“We enjoyrd relaxing while watching the river flow outside the chalet. Great location for seeing the area parks for hiking and local attractions.”

“We just love these cottages and the community. It is absolutely beautiful in the summer and winter. Everything is clean and this cottage had all the kitchen utensils and equipment needed. The only think is the upstairs area gets quite warm to due to fireplace having to be on. Maybe install another ceiling fan in the bedroom? We just loved our stay and can't wait to visit again.”

“Worked great for us with bedrooms on three levels with three different living/family rooms. Kayaks and canoe were fun for a quick spin on the river. Paddle upstream first so the current carries you back. ”

“This home was great for our short stay. We loved the large number of separate bedrooms and the large amount of common space as well. The house was very clean and had a very well stocked kitchen. The view of the lake is absolutely beautiful; unfortunately the lake was very murky and weedy so we were unable to swim at the property. There are a couple of swimming areas near by if you are willing to drive a little to get there.”

“This home is a great location for gatherings. It has 4 comfortable bedrooms and large open accommodating common spaces. Even though it rained almost our entire time the living spaces kept us having fun together at the large tables and great room style TV viewing room. We would have loved to have used the kayaks and canoe. Next time!”
