"Excellent location "

"Stayed here for a week with my daughter. The people were the kindest and I’m so grateful for them. The breakfast was amazing. One of the best I’ve had in Japan. The property is great and the restaurant and bakery in the hotel helped a lot for snacking. Overall would stay here again and 10/10 recommend it to anyone. You won’t be disappointed. "

"We were assigned a second floor room. We were taken there via the stairs, but later learned there was an elevator that my bother and I (79 & 81 years-old) would use to avoid the risk of falling, made more likely by slippers that kept falling off. Sleeping barely an inch or two above the floor made it a real challenge to get out of bed; you have been warned! Note that there is no small refrigerator or microwave in the room. However, they will bring you ice. They will walk with you to dinner, but you have to find your own way to the onsen (warm spring). There are a couple of cafes across the street from the ryokan where you can have an inexpensive breakfast. However, the dinners in the ryokan were worth every penny! Taxis to and from the ryokan are not expensive."

"This hotel is amazing. Great location, good breakfast, very clean, and most of all, great location. Rooms are a bit small, but this is normal for Japan. Price-quality: on point!"

"This place is absolutely incredible! First of all it’s beautiful, calm, and relaxing. It’s in a great location and an easy walk to cute shops and restaurants and marketplaces. The bus system is very fast, convenient and the trains and the train stations are much easier to understand than Shinjuku! You can definitely use this as a nice base to go deeper into Kyoto, where all the Matcha shops are and over to the Fushimi Inari Temple. The floor beneath the lobby has a beautiful spa- like bath and the hot water was amazing after walking 25,000 steps a day! The rooms are much bigger than others we found in Tokyo and the beds are super comfy. We definitely recommend this place and would definitely stay here again."

"The hotel location was perfect since it’s less than a 5 min walk from Kyoto’s main train station. The breakfast was wonderful with a perfect blend of traditional Japanese cuisine and American options. The milk bread is absolutely delicious! Our double room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. My only complaint is that the window faced extremely bright stairway lights that were on all night. The curtains didn’t block out the light on the sides which was right where our head lay on the bed. Aside from that the room and hotel was great. "

"The hot springs spa was amazing and very useful. It had different options for you to soak in from very hot to not so hot. I loved the hot pool with the cold bar to rest your head on. It made the experience that much more exciting. Overall very good time there and will definitely come back."
