“This was my first VRBO experience and I loved how easy it was. The cottage is rustic and simple but that’s exactly what I was looking for. I ended up not making it to the winery, but it was an easy drive into Colonial Beach and over to George Washington’s birthplace. And a cozy place to curl up and read during the afternoon thunderstorm!”

“We had such an amazing time! We were so close to so much history and 10 minutes from the train that took us to D.C. The home was exceptional! The rooms were so cozy and decorated with to relics that reflected the area. With the heat wave, MaryAnn ensured that the cabin was cool and comfortable. “Honestly, this place was a disappointment. The carpets were curled on the edges posing a trip hazard and were not clean. We found food from previous guests under the living room table. A smoke detector was beeping due to low battery and one was literally hanging from the ceiling. The windows, porches were very dirty. Front sidewalk unable to be walked on due to over grown shrub. The back porch sliding door was extremely difficult to open and close. The dock was not great and steps were broken……

“Overall great stay, very responsive host. Rained the entire weekend so we were mostly confined to the cabin, unable to enjoy outdoors. Big bummer. Pros: Comfortable beds, nice DVD collection, decent size bathroom and the shelf was a big help. Very easy to check-in, and the DG Market was nearby and well stocked. Fans worked great in the bedrooms, plenty of blankets and pillows for a cozy feel. There's a storage closet where the washer is (dry outside in garage) so we could store suitcases in……
