「Lovely ancient pub in this Pennine village. Staff could not have been more helpful. Property in good condition (the sloping floors are just a mark of the age). Food standard pub fare, but well presented.」

「Staff were helpful although what I had arranged on the Wednesday hadn’t been put in place by the Saturday when we arrived. Room even though upgraded was pretty basic. Bathroom very small but seemed clean 」

「We stayed in a room that is more spacious than average ones. Clean and tidy. Staff are very polite and hospitable. Buffet style English breakfast is served, and quite tasty. The kitchen even takes simple orders to suit your needs. Guests can also use the pool and gym for free, which is rare for many hotels. Lots of parking spaces. The only concern is that the room has no air conditioning. During a summer day it could be rather hot and stuffy.」

「There are plenty of parking spaces but yet they are mostly full. If you plan to drive, better to have a contingency plan in case you cannot find a parking space. The breakfast is very good n the room is clean and comfy. I enjoyed my stay there. 」
