「From the outside it looked very run down but the reception bar, dining rooms were lovely and the view outside was stunning! The down fall is the noise from the motorway we had very poor sleep! We had a standard room which I thought would have been bigger than the cosy but our room was small but clean. The lack of sleep spoilt it for us. The leisure facilities were lovely and our evening meal. We had a full English breakfast which was good.」

「Fantastic spot. The rooms are modern, clean and the beds extremely comfortable. Felt like a modern hotel and not a classic inn. Staff seemed a little grumpy, maybe the heat! Rooms have AC which was great. They offer Bristol airport parking fee and you can taxi to the airport so it's a great spot if you're flying in and out of Bristol. We used it as a halfway point from Cornwall to midlands. Just 7 mins to cheddar gorge. Highly recommend.」

「The pub is an old building, therefore there are things that cannot be changed, so if you are a light sleeper and cannot use ear plugs this may not be for you. It was not an issue for us. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent, we had one evening meal there, breakfast was perfect, they were very accommodating by tweaking the menu to what you prefer. Very close to the caves and gorge, easy to access other attractions.」

「Everything generally was ok. We arrived later than planned and wanted to get my daughter straight to bed. Most of the main lights in the room didn’t work, only bathroom and bedside lights. Reported to reception, she tried to change the main bulb, brought the wrong bulb then needed to get steps. Tried to replace a side light bulb instead, but could get them working. Asked her to give up so I could get my daughter to bed in the end.」
