Unrealized Potential
While this apartment has potential, we had a very bad experience here. The location is amazing, right in Wimbledon village. My family of four stayed here so we could get an early start to the Wimbledon queue - it’s about a 30 min walk to that entrance, or a 10 min drive. Unfortunately, it was extremely hot while we were here. I realize the hosts cannot control the weather, but it severely affected our experience. The upstairs was unbearably hot. One of the windows didn’t open to provide any airflow, and the other window opened directly onto a bus stop, making it extremely loud. I made sure to ask if there would be fans before we arrived, but the fans provided were completely ineffective. We ended up buying an air mattress and all slept downstairs. We also bought more powerful fans. I also specifically asked ahead of time if there would be a hair dryer. The one provided didn’t work. I messaged the hosts about this, and they did not provide a replacement. Overall, the communication was terrible. The response time was very long, and they were generally unhelpful when problems arose. There was barely any body wash provided, and when we asked for more, they said no. The apartment was not particularly clean. There was no trash can in the kitchen. There were no sheets for the pullout bed. There was only instant coffee in the kitchen. It felt like the absolute bare minimum was provided. There’s potential based on the location. But I would not stay here again.
