“My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Marshall Meadows Manor House. We stayed one night, but ate dinner and the included breakfast at the hotel. The room was clean, the food excellent, and the staff genuinely helpful. The manager assisted with luggage, provided us with helpful advice for our destination the following day, and was very attentive while also serving at the restaurant. “Overall a very good value place to stay, and as long as you know the place’s limits in advance you can plan round them. A bit on the basic side (no desk in the room, no towels, no dedicated wifi (something cloudy that didn’t work on 4th floor, so I tethered iPad to phone). toilet and shower a bit “military grade” but the price point was exceptional. Most of the staff were really friendly. Oh yeah there was a bit of a smell in the 4th floor corridor, but this was only in the corridor not in……

“Staff and food were very good but stay was let down by a few niggles. I had booked a table for dinner but there was no record of it when I arrived. I had also asked for a room with a walk in shower but didn't get it. The biscuits on the tea tray were the smallest pieces of shortbread I have seen made worse by having no biscuits at all on my second night. The tea bags had not been replenished and why leave 3 cartons of long life milk for 2 people? I have stayed in many hotels with my dog and this……

“On bus route to Holy Island. Bus times subject to tides. Close to A1. Rooms are in separate annex next to Inn so quiet. Good car park. Food well prepared and presented with interesting seasonal menu. Good variety of choices for breakfast including excellent veggie breakfast. Recommend.”

“The property was good, upside down property, set in a lovely harbour town. Locals friendly. Amazing ice cream shop. The attached fish and chip shop was very busy too. Parking was roadside, not guaranteed, opposite the property. We arrived at the end of the Herring Queen Festival, which was packed out. We struggled to even unload, but obviously that wasn't something we knew about prior to booking. After that had finished, parking wasn't really a problem. A few niggles with property but it didn't……
