This is a beautiful property with so much to do throughout the day. Activities such as volleyball, darts, horseshoes, water polo, aqua gym, stretching, Latin dance lessons, & more continue throughout the day or you can just relax on the lounges & enjoy the sunshine. There are 4 pools, take your pick. Although the beach is not on the property, it is a 7 minute walk through a lovely shaded path or you can be driven there by a golf cart that runs every 10 minutes. The Buffet offers a wonderful variety of food & plenty of fresh fruits & vegetables. There is so much to choose from. There is also an Asian restaurant, Italian & Steak House you can go to without making any reservations. All are delicious. The waiters at all restaurants are very friendly & helpful. You will see Wilbert, one of the head guys at the buffet. We got to know Polo who served us at breakfast. The rooms are spacious, some people say a little dated but were fine for us plus there is a lot of storage. The shows at night are wonderful! The activity folks are amazing working throughout the day & into the night providing exceptional entertainment. They are true professionals. Shout outs to Daniel, Eduardo, Saul, Norbeto, Rafael, Johnny, Nadia & Jacqueline to name a few who helped make our vacation fun, memorable & so enjoyable! You will love the RIU TEQUILLA !!

First time at a Riu Resort and i was not disappointed. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. There was plenty of great food to choose from their 5 restaurants, pool bar and 24hr sports bar. This is truly a family friendly resort with lots of scheduled activities throughout the day and themed shows/events nightly. This resort is know for its Friday party's. Great choice and will definitely be returning.

Food was good, staff was friendly. Front desk wasn’t friendly and nice. We had cockroach in first room on the main floor, than we were moved to the other room on the second floor and no cockroach there, but at the end of our stay we were offered to moved to a better room but on the first floor again. We lived on this upgrade room for 5 days with little tenants again. Definitely cockroaches is the issue in this hotel

My stay at Riu Tequila had some great highlights, but also a few letdowns. The entertainment team was truly top-tier — easily 10/10. They consistently organized activities throughout the day and night and made a real effort to engage guests. They were friendly, energetic, and made the experience fun. The shows were interactive and kept us entertained the entire stay. Another standout was the cleanliness. This is one of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever stayed at. You constantly see staff maintaining the property, and the rooms were spotless every day. However, the biggest disappointment was the food and drinks. For a RIU resort, I expected much better quality. Most of the cocktails tasted watered down, which was surprising. The food overall was hit or miss during my six-night stay. The buffet was excellent on two nights, offering a great variety of meats and fresh options, but inconsistent on other days. The restaurants were decent, but definitely could have been better. Compared to other RIU resorts I’ve visited, this was a noticeable downgrade in both food and drink quality. One important thing to note: this is not a beachfront property. You’ll need to take a golf cart or walk across the street, which takes about 7–10 minutes. While the golf cart runs every 10 minutes, this could be inconvenient for elderly guests or anyone with mobility challenges. Overall, I’d rate this resort a 7/10. The property is beautiful, and the entertainment and cleanliness really stand out.

The food was amazing each and every day! The staff are nice and attentive! The cocktails are fun and refreshing! We had the chance to attend the white party which was premium, fun and exciting! Entertainment at night s great and fun! Amenities are fantastic. There were a couple of issues with the room but were minor, front desk apologized by dropping a bottle of prosecco in the room. We celebrated a birthday during our stay, staff also dropped a tequila bottle in the room as a gift, they also decorated the room with ballons and fun animal figures made out of towels! Negatives: 1 golf cart is not enough to run people to the beach. Overall fantastic stay! Loved my time there
