“We loved our two nights stay at Melfort House. It was peaceful idyll that restored us somewhat as we were nearing the end of our road trip through Scotland. Matthew is a wonderful host, and we felt welcome in his home. The breakfast offerings were top notch, and our room and bed were so comfortable. “Our room was beautiful, cozy, clean, and we'll decorated. The staff were so nice and accommodating despite a flight change that left us checking in late and very hungry. They made us sandwiches and we're so kind. The location is wonderful and the property grounds are nice. Excellent breakfast. The continental was very well stocked and the menu items were delicious.”

“This is close enough to Oban but still far enough away ... you felt like you were getting both a bigger city but also a cute hotel on the water. The restaurant/pub made it feel so cozy and the rooms were good and meet all the needs. It felt very comfortable.”

“There was a mix up with the booking as we were down as dog owners!! Then we had no towels in the room which we had to chase down so we could shower before the meal we had booked. When we got to the restaurant there was more confusion about the booking. However, the restaurant staff were great and even after an issue with our meal order it was quickly resolved. The food was excellent.”

“Lovely views of Loch Awe. The driver wasn’t so happy about the long single track road but the other two enjoyed the solitude and quiet at the end of the road. Rooms are comfortable and all different.”

“Our room faces out the front and had a fantastic view over the loch. Very nice bathroom and well appointed room. It even has American style air conditioning which will cool / dehumidify the room. Just a small note of caution it is an old building so there is no elevator. It is a 18 minute walk to the ferry / train terminal. We organized a cab which was 5 pounds so we did not have to drag out suitcases. Breakfast was included with our booking and it was very good. We will stay here again with our……

“The room was the best we had on our trip. It had shampoo, conditioner, soap in both the sink area and the shower. There was cold water and milk in the refrigerator and coffee/ tea. There was also a heated towel rack and great big towels. They also provided a shower cap. It was large enough that you could both move around the room. Highly recommend”

“The staff at the Crinan was extremely helpful. Our flight delays had us getting there well after midnight and staff was ready to get us checked in and settled as soon as we arrived. I wish that we had more time to spend exploring the local area. Breakfast at the hotel was delicious and the coffee shop is an added bonus. Our room was perfect and the bed was amazingly comfortable. Definitely reccommend staying at the hotel!”

“The bed and floor were clean and we were only using it to sleep to be fair but the join under the sink kept soaking the floor and the kettle looked mouldy inside so we never got a cuppa. Also you can't share the room key link so my vaping partner had to keep borrowing my phone to go outside. Still was never supposed to be a room to hang out in properly I guess.”
