My family and I recently stayed at the Grand Park Royal Cancun for our summer vacation, and unfortunately, the experience did not live up to our expectations. Having had a wonderful time during my previous visit five years ago, I was truly looking forward to this stay.
On the positive side, the hotel's location is still excellent, offering beautiful views and convenient access to the beach. Moreover, their drink selection was decent, providing a small solace amidst the disappointments.
However, the decline in service and food quality left us thoroughly dissatisfied. One major safety concern was the lack of floor mats or anti-slip padding around the jacuzzi area. Both my son and daughter suffered unfortunate accidents, slipping and hitting their heads on the marble floor tiles. I strongly suggest that the hotel takes immediate action to prevent similar incidents in the future by implementing safety measures in such high-risk areas.
Another letdown was the significant decline in the quality and variety of food since my last visit. This aspect was one of the highlights during my previous stay, and it's disheartening to witness the evident drop in standards.
Overall, while the Grand Park Royal Cancun may boast a great location and some enjoya

Was there early March for 1 week. With wife and two teens. We enjoyed the stay. The beach is beautiful. The “fantastic” crew really does a good job at keeping people engaged and the entertainment during the day positive. The food was good as well. Some restaurants definately better then others and the buffet was decent. Overall the property was clean and staff was good. Seemed like sometimes the bar staff at the pool was a bit overwhelmed but still did their best.

This is the cleanest resort or hotel I have ever stayed at. Our room, restaurants, common spaces, washrooms, pools, and event spaces were all clean and in excellent repair. The staff is amazing, very attentive and knowledgable. The food was delicious in every restaurant, changed often.
Gluten free - 2 of my family members have Celiac disease and after a small hiccup on day 1 it was a very seamless dining experience. Suggest identifying your dietary restrictions to the resort before you travel, then speak with a Concierge and each restaurant Supervisor on arrival. Each morning, we identified at which restaurant we eat lunch and dinner so they could be prepared and it worked well. Not a single gluten exposure, very very grateful.
Accessibility - If you are a wheelchair or rollator/walker user, you might have difficulty at this resort. The floors in the buildings are shiny tile, slippery when wet, but the outdoor walkways are all large, flat rocks with eneven surfaces cemented together creating a cobblestone effect. It is difficult to pull suitcases over the stone so the bell hops drive you on golf carts. Yes, the staff will happily drive you but that impacts independence. I have joint replacements and needed to use hiking poles, as many of the uneven walkways are long ramps. Also, the shortest number of stairs to reach the beach is 4+ 4 with a landing in between and no handrail. The stairs with 8+ stairs have rope handrails.

The resort itself, and the ambience of the resort is beautiful however, they only have three dining options for restaurants and the buffet never changes it the same every day very low quality for buffet food and not the best quality of food in general. I would recommend to stay here but to go outside of the resort to eat if you want real good tasting food overall for the money it’s OK. I don’t recommend if you’re gonna be staying there long to stay there but if it’s a short trip, it should be fine. I’ve definitely stayed that nicer resorts with lots more food options.

The beach and pools were nice. The view from our room was nice. I enjoyed my massage. The food in the Italian Restaurant and Hibachi was good. The food in buffet was cold, wasn’t replenished enough, and seemed like the same things and not enough variety. The hostesses were friendly in the buffet. The staff when you first arrived and at front desk were only friendly at first because they are trying to sell you something. After that they didn’t really speak and not really friendly at all. The activities were fun and Joshua did a great job. I did have a butler Jessica assigned to me who set up reservations which was helpful. We stopped at concierge for more towels and coffee that they send would send up but never did. The phone didn’t work for room service after they answered my call then no answer. The rooms were very outdated. The floor in our room looked dirty. The bathroom shower area was very small and hard to maneuver around with the toilet so close. They really need to upgrade resort.

Over the years i have stayed at all different resorts. All have been great. My major complaint here was the food. Breakfast was fine. The lunch options not so much. If you went to the sit down restaurant your food was cold the same with the buffet and most dishes not edible. Dinner buffet was not good. The hobachi and the Italian restaurant were good but not great.
The lounge chair in our room was well worn and dirty. The room and other chairs always felt damp probably due to the condensation drippings from the air conditioning vent in the ceiling.
They tell you, you don't need reservations for the restaurants, but anyone with a reservation gets taken in first.
You need to get up early and put your towels on the beach chairs that you'd like. I don't think there's enough chairs to accommodate the amount of people that stay there.
Think of mentioning, they were closing for renovations. I wish we had known that when we booked our holiday.

Beautiful property with great access to the beach, tasteful sun beds and amazing views. The restaurants are delicious and you always get a sitting, either early or later. However it is not really suitable for families, since the pools aren’t heated and half the property is adults only, which severely limits options for parents - that was our greatest disappointment.

Staff at the buffet like Erika , Feliciana, Yuliana, are fantastic ladies and they give you an impeccable service. The chef David , and Jessica, are also great and will accommodate your special needs if you are vegan. Felipe at one he Italian restaurant is a great guy and he takes good care of you.
