HOTEL MYSTAYS Fuji Onsen Resort

"We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and always willing to help. The onsen was a great experience, and we also appreciated the other amenities the hotel offers. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the dinner. My son has food allergies, and although we paid around $40 for his dinner, the staff couldn’t confirm whether the dishes were safe for him to eat (except the salad) . As a result, he barely ate because we didn’t want to take any chances. Breakfast was a much better experience, and he was able to enjoy a full meal without worrying about his allergies. Overall, we had a wonderful stay ."

"Our first stay in a traditional ryokan and one of the highlights of our Japan trip. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, and the peaceful atmosphere was remarkable — apart from breakfast and the drum performance, we barely saw another guest. It genuinely felt like stepping back in time. We stayed as an LGBT couple and felt completely comfortable throughout our stay. Our room was huge, with traditional flooring and views of Mount Fuji, which we also enjoyed from the rooftop onsen. The onsen experience was a highlight. As visitors from the UK it was completely new to us, but we embraced it and loved it. The traditional meal was also a wonderful experience; my partner does not eat fish and the hotel accommodated this after we contacted them in advance. The menu is fixed, so picky eaters may wish to bring snacks. You dine in a private dining room. Beautiful gardens, exceptional hospitality and a unique sense of calm made this an unforgettable stay"

"This was a good hotel for me and my family. Location was good and they had a free shuttle back to the center of town and bus station. I really appreciated the washing machines and that the front desk staff spoke passable English. I really don't like the self check in machines the hotels use in Japan and this hotel was no exception. I can't speak to the breakfast since we left too early in the morning to enjoy it. Overall it was a good stay and very affordable, especially since I needed 4 rooms."

"We stayed here to go to Fuji Q for the day. The hotel room was huge. We had a family room with four beds and a mountain view. We saw Mt Fuji both mornings so that alone was worth staying out near Fuji. The dinner buffet was very expensive but good. The breakfast buffet had very very few Western options. Sadly the Onsen was closed. They offered us one 30 minutes away. But we didn’t want to go through that hassle. Overall the employees are nice and the room was our largest in Japan by far!"
