“I stayed here previously last year but since then, standards of cleanliness and general upkeep seem to have fallen. In the bedroom, three of four pillows on the bed had brown marks on them; the dressing table chair had a long brown streaky stain on it (looked like 💩) and in the bathroom, there was no rubber seal on the bottom of the glass shower screen, so water poured out onto the floor when showering. Other minor cosmetic issues included missing tiles under the bathroom sink, and scuffs on……

“The accommodation is a small studio flat which was well furnished and comfortable. Unfortunately, when the windows opened the road noise is too great to leave open and the room very warm so for me, not comfortable due to being too hot and poor quality sleep. There is a fan but only blowing around warm air so not great. Breakfast was okay but some food not that fresh, some of the rolls were from the previous day and a bit hard and some food put out for the 6am opening and still there an hour or……

“The property was spotless and very homely. Everything you need was there and also lovely fresh flowers, milk and biscuits on arrival. There was even treats for the dogs. The staff were lovely that we had met also. You definitely need to take a torch as its very dark at night trying to walk the dogs.”

“We really enjoyed our stay at Cote cottage and it was the perfect size for us. It had everything we wanted. It is slightly remote and peaceful but that's exactly what we wanted, however it's not far to get to local amenities. Check in was a smooth process. There is also free on-site parking for the car which was a must for us. The beds were comfy too. In the end, we were sad to leave. We will definitely look to coming back if we're in the area again!”

“Great little play to stay for a few days in this part of the country with easy access to many places in Northumberland.Great you can walk to Alnwick castle and not worry about transport to and from and a few nice pubs with outside area to have a drink on way back.A few nice restaurants in the town which we used and if you like a book shop the biggest I have every seem 10 mins walk away.”
