This is the worst 5-star all-inclusive experience our family had during christmas. We did not have hot shower for three nights and the room has been freezing cold. We informed the hotel the first night and they kept sending maintenance people without fixing it. And whats worse, they did not really care about our problems. Everytime I called them, I need to explain the situation again. And what I got is 'we will send someone to fix' ' the hotel is fully booked so not possible to change the room' or 'this is the general problem'. The daily activities and restaurants are good but I think the room itself is the basic of which the problem and technicians visits, really bother our holiday mood.

We absolutely loved our experience here. The hospitality was exceptional, and every staff member we encountered was warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. The hotel is incredibly kid-friendly, which made our stay so easy and enjoyable as a family. We especially loved how beautifully nature is incorporated into the design and layout of the property—it feels peaceful and thoughtfully done. Seeing the friendly wild animals around the hotel was such a unique and special touch. Truly an unforgettable stay, and we can’t wait to come back.

We lost a whole day trying to figure out payment, room accommodations such as I booked for a king size bed and I was put in a twin bed room, this has been the worse sleep I had in a long time it was so uncomfortable 2 adults sleeping in a twin bed. I wish we had a better experience to remember our 15th year anniversary. And btw make sure you bring “brand new dollar bills” if you are planning on paying with USD because they would not take a bill if it shows sings of normal fading lines from folding or rips. I can’t believe I spend this much money to experience this poor service.

I loved this resort! The staff were amazing, especially isreal, he was so helpful and kind our whole trip! Danny Vazquez was also great! There was a too many Amazing staff members to name them all! The wild life there is incredible. I can’t wait to go back! The only thing I would suggest is a real hot tub outside, the one they advertise as a hot tub is not hot at all! Aside from that this was the best resort I’ve been to.

We had a nice stay only because we booked Royal. The food at the Royal restaurant is delicious, but the buffet food was mediocre. So we ended up having breakfast, lunch AND dinner only at the Royal restaurant, and after 3 days we were bored of eating always the same. I would still recommend the resort due to its proximity to Xcaret park, but ONLY if you book Royal and you're staying for a few days.

⭐ 1 Star – Deeply Disappointing Experience Our stay at Occidental Xcaret was extremely disappointing and nowhere near what you would expect from an “all-inclusive” resort. First, the service was noticeably lacking. Staff were generally unhelpful and indifferent, and there was zero flexibility or accommodation for a late check-out, even when the resort was not busy. We felt rushed out rather than valued as guests. The amenities were poor and outdated. The overall design of the resort feels old and neglected, and the rooms were lackluster, worn, and far from comfortable. This is not a property that feels refreshed or well maintained. The biggest issue by far was the food. It was so bad that we ended up eating in town every single night, which completely defeats the purpose of booking an all-inclusive resort. Limited variety, poor quality, and unimpressive flavors across the board. Calling this place an “all-inclusive” is misleading. Between the subpar food, weak amenities, and lack of service, it simply doesn’t deliver on the promise. Overall, this resort fell short in almost every category. We would not return even if we were offered credit, even if it was free, that’s how bad it is. We would strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you want quality service, good food, or a true all-inclusive experience.

The property was beyond beautiful! So many animals free roaming the property. Mayan ruins tucked away throughout the grounds. The pools were very nice with plenty of seating. The employees were excellent with a special call put to Dayreth and her yoga class. Check-in was easy although we were provided no information about the property. We had to ask around to a number of people about what was included and what wasn’t. Some pools are reserved for special club members but they were not well marked nor were we told about them. The Expedia description listed a water park so we assumed we had access to Xcaret. But that was not the case. The best we can tell the “water park” referenced was a child’s play area. The food was very poor. It was tasteless and rarely warmer than room temperature in the buffets as well as the restaurants. I would still go back if a good deal presented itself.
