"This is the type of hotel stay I love! Beautiful lobby. The decor was exceptionally beautiful. The staff were kind and polite. The breakfast area was large if you’re a bit shy and just want to grab your breakfast in peace. Some of the food was a bit spare even going just 30 minutes after it was served, but not a deal breaker. Amenities were great. The elevator worked, the ice machine location was easy to access. The parking lot felt private; tucked behind a restaurant but even then it wasn’t like you were IN the restaurant nor by a busy road. The room: very clean (no smell, no noticeable damages or age to anything). The A/C was great, took a moment for the room to cool down but after a bit of time (even two hours) it felt great in there. It was a very large hotel room so I wasn’t surprised it took awhile. I wish the fridge would have had a freezer so our ice packs could have had an opportunity to refreeze, but again, not a deal breaker. All equipment (microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer) worked. I love that there was a little moveable table that could be used by the chair; like a mini dinner table. The shower.. MASSIVE! Loved it. Water got on the floor though so be careful with that aspect. Plenty of towels. I could go on and on about this stay. I will definitely be staying again if the opportunity ever arises. "

"First Patty at check in was beyond sweet and she was so welcoming. Really wonderful employee. There were small things that were lacking like no hand soap and the shower gel was almost empty so really no soap to speak of. Also they have this cute card talking about making yourself an afternoon cup of trees but no tea. And then we returned around 8:45 and ran out to go to our car to grab surfing and left our key in the room. I called the emergency number passed at reception since no one was left at reception and the man that answered the phone literally answered it Hello. That’s it i thought i had the wrong number. Then i said i locked myself out of my room and he said well I'm an hour away so let me see if anyone at the restaurant can let you in and hung up on me. It was so odd. It left a bad taste in my mouth so even though I’m giving the place 4 stars and it does have a beautiful setting i will never stay there again"

"We were really comfortable staying in this hotel. Tucked away off the main road, and they have a really nice area for the dogs outside. Breakfast was good, but you absolutely must eat early, otherwise there is not enough seating. Bed was very comfortable. "

"Staff was very friendly, helpful, and responsive. Everything was clean and fairly modern. Even the guests were pretty nice. No one was loud at night (that I could hear anyway). Only negatives: the one bed mattress sunk down a lot. I had 2 beds, just used the other one. Also, there was only an cloth shower curtain that didn’t block water and water was on the bathroom floor after my first use Next time just pointed the shower head towards the shower wall. "

"We had such a great stay even just for 1 night. The property was extremely cozy and centrally located. The front yard is so welcoming. We had a Bunkhouse lower level room which allows dogs for a fee. Be aware the rooms are on the smaller side but ours did have a patio that helped make it seem bigger. My only complaint was that the restaurant wasn’t open on a Sunday evening despite it being busy season. We would have loved to check it out. However they offered coffee and a super tasty breakfast loaf to hold us over through checkout. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in Highlands. "
