Disliked: Room comfort
We stayed for 2 nights. The location is great, just 5 min walking from Paddington station. Before the minimal interaction we had we Hotel staff, we can say they are not particularly friendly although helpful. Our resting could be way better. Unfortunately the mattress was terrible and completely worn out. Also, the room walls could have a better sound proof isolation.

Good location. Hotel rooms were perfectly adequate and not the usual overheated boxes.
The only thing I liked about this hotel is the location and proximately to the subway station, restaurants and stores. Staff did a good job of cleaning the room.
The room was dated and moldy, bed was uncomfortable, no hot water, no staff available after the morning, shotty Wi-Fi, only two poor quality towels were provided for the entire day, no hand towels, and no hair blow dryer.
If there was a situation no one was on the premise after the morning cleaning. Not good!
Nice clean place to stay a few days. Close to Edgware road underground. Middle east neighbour hood with a lot of cafes, restaurants and small shops.
No working wifi in room 9.

Room for the most part was fine, not great, smaller than the pictures, really just two heads with a foot in between them. We were right by a busy road, and it was super loud at night, so sleeping was tough. The shower also did not have hot water. Staff was nice.
Excellent value for fairly central London. No frills but very very clean & comforable & excellent out-of-hours-check in service.
Ideally situated for London Tube & buses.
Thank you

Good for price
Nice area near to Paddington and Lancaster gate station. Easy to navigate and rooms are good for the price.
Cons :they provide towels of size for hand washing only and not for bath.
Wanted a break away from the hustle and bustle of a hectic week at work with my husband, came across this hotel via Expedia, read the reviews some negative some positive, even the price was right. However I did not expect a cold shower!!
Water was cold and when we tried to brave overselves to have a shower the shower tray filled up with water within minutes, this was due to the plug hole being slightly blocked.
When we went out that night, there was no one to tell, so my husband said just leave it as we are only here for 2 nights.
The only 2 things that were good was location and the beds were comfortable.
Location is good, v close to Paddington. The room was tiny with very tired carpet that was probably teeming with dirt.
Hot water? Not available, the shower was only warm enough not to gasp - but oh well, good for waking up properly.
When I arrived I didn’t realise that the radiator was merely decorative so my first night was absolutely freezing. In the morning I realised there was an electric heater that I needed to plug.
There was one towel, that I used for my body, face and hands, and also as a bath mat. Thankfully the other two nights more towels magically appeared. Never saw a soul.
For what this hotel is, it is the most expensive hotel in London. I’ve stayed in youth hostels more comfortable than this.
Negatives - Purported wifi non-exsistent, bathmat size towel for a doll, stairs from a horror film (but only an issue if you are placed above first floor and have heavy luggage), bathroom could double as a wet sauna, non existent front reception (you will need a cell phone to call the hotelier to check in) and last of all, the size of the room matches the towel provided, ie for a doll.
Positives - location was great, the view was nice, the room did have housekeeping (who provided a fresh dolls towel daily and made the bed), the hotelier provided a replacement fan when advised that the one in the room could not be connected given it was an EU fan, there is a tv although limited reception, and in the end, I suppose you have a roof over your head - which is a positive.
The place and furniture were very much worn out and don't live up to the photos of the rooms. It was very cold at night, and the electric heater didn't help much.
We specifically booked this place because we wanted breakfast included, which all of the other hotels on the street had – and according to the website and our booking, this place did too. However, the morning after our arrival, the staff told us that they did not serve breakfast at all. We didn't have a chance to complain after this, as the staff was not available at the reception or elsewhere. Fortunately, hotels.com reimbursed some of our expenses for breakfast elsewhere.
The cleaning was fine, which was some relief. But overall not a very pleasant experience.
It almost took an hour to check in. There wasn’t a receptionist (there wasn’t the Hole trip). We’d to call a number, and eventually we could check in.
The cleaning standard wasn’t good enough either, and it was incredible dusty.
The worst part was the bathroom, as the toilet couldn’t flush and the shower was boiling hot, and the tap to the cold water was broke.
Next day we tried to get a new room, but because there wasn’t a person in the reception, we’d to call. Eventually we got trough, but it was difficult communication. On New Years Day (our third day), we contacted their cleaning lady, and she was the only helpful person, and we got a new room in the basement for our last night.
I can’t recommend this hotel whatsoever. When we tried to check-in, we went to another hotel, and they said ‘there’s always problems at Normandie Hotel’.
I’ve stayed at other budget hotels in London, but never expected anything like that. Abysmal!

Expect what you paid for and it'll be okay.
We got room 7 and the twin bed's mattress was broken but still managed to sleep fine.
I don't mind cold showers so barely warm water didn't bother me much, but it's worth nothing
There was no WIFI during my 3 nights stay.
Water was cold on the 1st day, lukewarm on 2nd day, way too hot on 3rd day and no possibility to regulate, as the handle has been removed.
Central heating not working, the small mobile heater was not strong enough to heat the whole room.
Draught through window.
The property was dirty not do to lack of cleaning. It is clear the owner had not put any money into the hotels upkeep. There was no hot water during my entire stay nor did the internet work properly. I would recommend Expedia consider delisting this property until it’s upgraded.
