Staff were great. Helpful and friendly. Brought coffee when we asked for it. No telephone in the room though, you have to go downstairs. Bed was good. Bathroom was good. Only the carpet seemed a bit tired. Wasn't vacuumed in the hall, either. During the night there was serious noise from outside, like a jack hammer. Ok with ear plugs.
Family Room was just big enough for the four of us - double, single and a cot. Youngest (10) got the cot which was not as comfortable as the beds but worked for a short trip (4 nights). Clean, safe area. Close to underground and a bus stop right outside. Easy to get to all the major London attractions. Would highly recommend for those looking for a budget friendly option.
Great location for underground access to city. Limited parking but after 8:30pm and on weekend there are free spaces nearby. NCP car park is 8 minutes on foot but quite pricey. The usual excellent Premier inn breakfast. Air conditioned room was a big plus.
The room was smelling so bad! As we can’t open the Windows the humidity Was so high and the pipeline smell was so bad 😷. Location is good but I would prefer being far and sleep in more hygienic room and bed.
This hotel was good for a one night stay. The room and property are clean. Expect one towel for two guests and no facial wash clothes (must be an American thing). While check-in was not easy using the kiosk, a staff member was quick to help when asked. An unannounced fire drill, on Tuesday, was very nerve racking, especially being on the 11th floor. Luckily, it was just a drill.

Good not great, but, bottom line, I would happily stay at Premier Inn London City - Old Street again. My family & I stayed 5 nights. The price was right, the bus stop was literally right outside of the door, the tube station 1/2 block away, and kids ate free (at least during my stay) in the hotel restaurant and for breakfast (which was among the better hotel breakfasts I've encountered this side of luxury hotel stays). The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
The quibbles:
- Our first room was very musty when we arrived and should be thoroughly cleaned to the bones before being offered to another guest. Given prior comments, I think the hotel is aware of this issue. However, they happily moved us to another without this issue upon request. Had there been no other room available, however, and had we been required to remain in the 1st room, this would have been a serious problem resulting in a 1-star review here.
- The room featured some minor staining. A paint job is required.
- The elevator at least from our floor could not be summoned. When I inquired about this, the staff told me that the both elevators' buttons had to be pushed simultaneously (by 2 people) for functionality. Thus, they were aware of the issue and did not inform us in advance, let alone fix it.
- The heat system just doesn't work. Cannot reduce temperature below 19 c and any adjustment upward results in excess heat.
But, again, I'd stay again despite these issues!
We checked in and were assigned a room. There was no hot water in the room, and the room was in poor shape. We were then assigned another room. That room also had no hot water and was in poor shape. We then asked the desk clerk for another room, they were booked, so we had to check out. We are requesting a refund or credit for this experience.
Absolutely horrible stay! We had no water for a whole day. I was in the middle of brushing my teeth when the water shut off. Then we had another day where they scheduled a water outage. Any time we asked for assistance (which we didn't ask for much) they never came. When we checked in the bedding hadn't been changed and was covered in stains, the shower drain was constantly clogged so the water wouldn't go down very much when you showered, and the complimentary waters in the mini fridge were open.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
I was not too happy with the bathroom: shower in the bathtub but no handrail to help getting in or out. Shower was not adjustable so not easy to keep your hair dry. No shower cap. The ventilation did not work in the morning?
The tv switched on at 11 pm by itself every night.

Just book somewhere else.
This is by far the least helpful and rudest staff I've ever encountered.
We had 2 rooms, for four nights, and everyday there was some issue. We had requested to change rooms, being told twice that it was no problem, only to later being told that we couldn't, and how impossible it was. Housekeeping would enter our rooms with out permission, even though the front desk clearly told us that they need our permission to do so, causing us to be awakend by staff who just opened the doors, without our consent.
When we asked for our rooms to be cleaned, they only cleaned one. When we asked about it, we were only met by a shrug and a cold "wasn't on the list", though clearly they where. Here's the part where they at least should have asked if we'd like any towels or if there were anything they could do, but alas.
The unwillingness to help was beyond, and I would not recommend anyone to book this hotel. Having been a receptionist for 9 years my self, this has been a display on how not to be a receptionist, and I have been shocked over the level of unprofessionalism of this staff. In the end we wouldn't even bother asking if we had any questions or requirement.
Clean room and amazing front desk staff. Wojtek was very helpful check-in was easy, and he assisted me with scheduling the room cleaning service. I stayed there for 6 nights, and housekeeping needs to be scheduled in advance.
Breakfast was amazing : the best coffee I’ve had was served there!
Only two small downsides: the WiFi was weak, and the breakfast selection was the same every day. For a longer stay, you end up eating the same food. However, they do offer gluten-free bread, which was a nice touch.
