"My first option was to stay at Tahoe City's America Best Value Inn, as I usually do, but that place recently and permanently closed. This no-frill Pepper Tree Inn is also in need of renovation (old-style motel layout; slow elevator; some stains here and there; no breakfast; etc.), which is scheduled for later this year.
