North Syracuse Historic Hotel

"I was quite disappointed with my stay at this hotel, as several issues added up to a poor experience. First, the check-in process was frustrating. The front desk repeatedly assigned uncleaned rooms—not just to my family, but to at least three guests ahead of us as well. This suggests a lack of coordination and quality control. While the rooms themselves are spacious, there are many maintenance issues that shouldn’t be overlooked. For example, our room door wouldn’t close properly and could easily be pushed open, which is a serious security concern. In addition, one of the shower gel dispensers was broken and unusable. Housekeeping was also problematic. If you leave the “Do Not Disturb” sign on past 9 a.m., even if you remove it later, your room will not be serviced at all for the day. This policy was not clearly communicated and is quite inconvenient. Overall, these issues add up, and the hotel does not meet the standards I would expect from a 3-star property. "

"I had an early flight and required a nearby hotel. The hotel is clearly on the older side and scuffed up a little bit, but it was clean and convenient to the airport. "

"The stay was overall okay. The problem started with the overabundance of kids roaming the hallways and creating absolutely horrible disturbance. Staff seemed to no inforce anything and remained at the front desk watching their phone. The final morning, breakfast was unavailable an hour after breakfast as they had "staffing issues". When you plan an entire day or stay around the breakfast and it's time because of the plans or reason for the stay, and you're on a schedule, it throws the whole day off. My husband was down later in the morning when breakfast was finally open and was very upset at the staff, complaining about their workplace themselves and venting to other guests at the overwhelming amount of kids staying at the hotel. There's a time and place, and that's nether the proper time or place to vent, especially as an employee. My wife called to submit a formal complaint and was told they would follow-up with a resolution. It has been a few days and as expected, we received no follow-up call from management. I will not be staying at this location again and will consider to staying at a different more reputable hotel establishment from here on out. "

"I checked out 3 minutes after arriving. I was suppose to get refunded because I never officially checked in. This property should be removed from your list. Very unsafe with loitering and unkept. How do I go about securing my refund? I was told it would be automatically generated since I was there less than 15 minutes "

"Hot tub and pool smelled strongly of chlorine. Hit tub and pool hours are less than ideal. AC in the room didn’t sound great. Breakfast was the same both days (pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage links). It was ok, but nothing to write home about. The blueberry syrup was good!"
