We had a very pleasant stay here at Riu Playacar! Our room had a balcony and would recommend it 100%. The staff is very friendly and attentive, our room service was great and of course everything outdoors was very clean. All the staff were courteous and friendly at all times and any issues were resolved immediately. My family had a wonderful time. All inclusive food and drinks were great. the only issue was with the smell of the sargasso decomposing on the beach.

Although the AC needs work and property is more like a 4 star in Canadian/American standard, the poolside was great, just a short walk to the beach, and the staff workers work very hard. Definitely would recommend and come again, no question.

The food was ok, mostly buffet style and a little repetitive. The service was good. The rooms need a little updating, and the AC didn't work well in one of our two rooms... they attempted to repair it, but it wouldn't get low enough to combat the humidity. The water in the sink is not drinkable, which is understandable in Mexico, but most of the places I've stayed before you don't need to worry about brushing your teeth with the sink water.

I thought the resort was good. The staff was amazing but I did find that the food at the Asian and Italian restaurants were sub par. The Mexican restaurant was good and the buffets were decent. The steak house was absolutely amazing the first time I went but the 2nd time was not good at all so consistency needs to be looked at. Overall, I had a great time with friends and I would go back for the price
