"Just a little dated with the carpeting, which I suspect partly caused the musty smell when we entered. With the air-conditioning on, though, we got used to it relatively quickly. We only stayed overnight, but the price was good and it had the amenities we needed. Fridge worked better than most other hotels. Had a nice outdoor breakfast on a bench beside the lake, so I got some birding in as we ate. Overall, a pleasant stay and I would stay here again. Felt very safe."

"Freshly renovated hotel was absolutely spotless, beds were very comfy, AC ice cold, clean bathroom with good water pressure, and I liked that it’s right off the highway and next door to a gas station. "

"The property was very nice and well kept. It was clean and the host was very responsive to emails and the process to check in and out was very easy. Only complaint was the proximity to the highway. At night it was fine, but during the day it was pretty loud with traffic. The bed was a little firm for our liking, but overall a great spot!"

"Property was as described, older cottage and clean. In a very quiet neighborhood up the road from the National Park Sandstone Visitors Center. There was quite a bit of train activity, up to 6 passes in the middle of the night. We knew about it from other reviews and it didn’t really bother us. We woke up and fell back asleep. "

"Old house with basic decor. Not "white glove" clean but maybe I'm fussy. Comfortable beds and well equipped with supplies and the usual amenities. Location can't be beat - across the street from Hawks Nest State Park, with hiking trails, gift shop and overlooks to rival the New River Gorge National Park, a 15 minute drive away."
