A new, quiet, unique room painted with intricate artwork made our stay unforgettable. Basic toiletries are provided like wifi, toothbrush, cotton buds, facial moisturizer plus a pot to make tea or coffee. Recommended for budget and adventurous travellers where restaurants and shops are plenty. Fifteen minutes away from the crowd of Shinjuku Station.
Staying at BnA is a unique experience. Love the art work ,the level of comfort, excellent location close to Koenji station. Most of all connection to creative community.
I didnt like the fact that they did not respond to an email from december 2018 requesting to cancel the booking until after I would have already checked in
The room was as anticipated - large by Japanese standards with an incredible mural throughout. Amenities were provided, including ear plugs as the area was a bit noisy.
Close proximity to the Train station. Friendly and easy check in. Trendy and functional room. Only downside was that elevator was out of order which was tricky up a narrow flight of stairs with big suitcases... But overall it was good and we'd go back again!
This is an amazing hotel, super friendly staff and a really nice neighbourhood. Very easy to see other parts of Tokyo since the railway station is so close. Would highly rekomend a stay here!
Super cool, creative boutique hotel in a fantastic non-touristy local neighborhood. My wife and I stayed here our first night in Tokyo and it did not disappoint. The are has really wonderful night life and is located only 15 minute JR train ride from Shinjuku. Friendly and helpful staff. Note that this hotel is a bit different, though, as there is not really any front desk staff present at all times. We arrived in the morning at 11am when the email said we could drop our stuff but there was nobody there to take our stuff and guide us but rather just a lockbox to enter and drop our stuff in a common room. Similarly when we left there is nobody to check out with or anything. If you are looking for a traditional hotel this is probably not your place but if you want a cool, casual, hip and boutique place in a great local spot without much in the way of traditional service this is a great place.
I stayed in the "ten" room on the third floor. It has so many artistic details everywhere you look. I got to meet the hotel's owner and collaborators over the course of my stay. All really nice people. I also liked the location of the hotel, near the station and in a great area of Tokyo; Los of good places to eat, have a craft beer, and enjoy music.
It's nice to have drink in a laid-back bar with unusually good tunes, and then go through the back door to your room, having the bartender tell you to sleep well. Sleeping on top of the bar wasn't any problem, but earplugs were even provided just in case. They did come in handy though, because you get a lot of noise coming in from the street, but we were charmed enough by the murial in the room and the awesome staff to think it ok. It's part of the experience.
My son and I stayed at this hotel after three nights at the Tokyo Marriott. We were there for a total of 4 nights. At first, it was different enough from the Marriott (no TV, small elevator) to be a shock. By the end of the fourth night we decided that if we were ever in Tokyo again, this would be where we stayed.
The hotel is basically across the street from Koenji station and consists of a bar and two hotel rooms: the bar is on the ground floor and the rooms are in the two storeys above the bar. The location is central in Koenji and you feel like you are part of the community. The staff are extremely helpful and you feel like you are living in the "real" Tokyo rather than the business district where the Marriott was.
Koenji itself is a very interesting area filled with small shops and restaurants, and generally with friendly and helpful people. By the end of the fourth day we were reluctant to leave because we had been enjoying ourselves so much.
If you are in Tokyo I would very much recommend the Artists' Hotel as your base of operations.
Akira's tiny artists' hotel was as a different an experience as its possible to imagine from the enormity of most other things in Japan. He is friendly and helpful- introduced us to his friend's lovely Japanese curry restaurant and made us feel very welcome.
The rooms are interesting and quirky, each one unique in design and style. Tiny but perfectly adequate.

Awesome place, loved the bar area downstairs. Koenji is where you want to be and the rooms are just a couple blocks from the metro station. The rooms are thoughtfully designed and clean.
BnA hotel is perfect for anyone who appreciates modern/street art. Our room was designed by a local artist, talk about literally living in art. The lobby serves as a drip coffee bar by day and bar at night. There is also an underground gallery in the hotel, which just happened to have a gallery opening during our stay. Koenji itself is super cute and charming; the Echo Park or Silver Lake of Tokyo. It's a nice change from the neon lights and tourist crowded Shinjuku, Shibuya and Harajuku. The hotel is right next to the station which makes it easy to get around, once you figure out the train lines. Highly recommend this place for a different aspect of Japan.
