Teiensaryo Yamanakako is an awesome place to stay. The Kaiseki dinner was so fresh and good. There a shared onsen bathroom which you can use as individual or family. The inn is located conveniently to the lake and bus station. If you are driving, there is free parking at the inn. We enjoyed our stay very much at Teinsaryo and would highly recommend this place.

Excellent stay
The hotel is ran by a family and they are the most welcoming host ever! After hearing that we didn’t have a car, they offered to drive us around the lake Yamanaka and offered to take photos for my family with Mount Fuji at different angles. The food is also amazing! The hotel has a gorgeous zen garden with beautiful koi and you can feed them. Additionally, location is great: 2 mins walk from a major bus station, 3 mins to the lake.

Amazing FOOD!
we came here on a rainy day so couldn't do much sightseeing around Mt Fuji, but the lake was beautiful and the hotel was in a very good location. The highlight of our trip became the dinner and breakfast served by the owner of the ryokan. The food was absolutely amazing, especially if you enjoy japanese food. Everything was so balanced.

The staff here are amazing! Incredible hospitality. They went way out of their way to make me feel welcome and comfortable. The hotel itself is somewhat basic, but that gives it something of a rustic charm. As long as you don't mind the fact that there is no hot water in the room, you will enjoy its quiet comfort. You will also enjoy its fantastically beautiful traditional Japanese garden. The ofuro is just okay; not very big, and there is no roten-buro.

I must say that Teiensaryo Yamanakako remains one of my best memories of my trip to Japan. I was intrigued and won over by the many reviews about the family’s kindness and warm attitude, so I decided to book this ryokan for my stay near Mount Fuji. (I also just really love pretty gardens, and koi fishes and theirs were truly amazing.) I can confirm that not a single one of the compliments directed towards the family owning this pretty ryokan was lying. They were without a doubt the kindest, most welcoming, and most accommodating people I’ve met throughout my whole 3 weeks stay in Japan. They took care to help me with anything I needed without my even having to ask for it, which I was rather embarrassed at times, though extremely touched. (My suitcases were pretty heavy!) They even drove all the way to the train station to give me back my jacket and pasmo card after I managed to forget them at their ryokan. Truly an incredible family! They really went out of their way to show me around and tell me about all the different aspects of Mount Fuji and the area for a one night stay. They were wonderful! Their ryokan is a truly relaxing and beautiful ryokan. The garden view from the room makes for a very peaceful evening. Their cooking is also excellent! I’m allergic to a lot of seafoods, so there were dishes I could not enjoy, but they made me feel quite sorry for it, as every single dish I could eat was delicious. I would truly, and genuinely recommend this ryokan to everyone.
