「Wingrove House is a welcoming small hotel in the heart of the historic village of Alfriston, just off the South Downs Way. It has been sympathetically restored to make it a comfortable, modern hotel. The staff are friendly and the rooms are spotless. There is a comfortable lounge and I enjoyed sitting there with a book in the evening. Breakfast was also delicious and the restaurante service was great.」

「The pub was full of life, staff friendly and helpful, room had some nice features. Breakfast good. Friends joined us in the bar and were the last to leave…long suffering staff very pleasant about it! 」

「Amazing value. I can’t believe it was that cheap to be honest. Was expecting a bit of a dive but it was really pleasant. Comfy bed, good shower. Staff were very accommodating. Had a small issue with the toilet cistern not refilling in the first room, got moved straight away to an even better room. Can’t fault any of it. Nice little stay」

「We stayed there for 5 nights with our 2 teen girls joining over the weekend. Everything was really good: the hospitality, the room and bedding, breakfast, local restaurant guide and even the flush at the toilet. Parking was an issue after 8pm as usually all the closest parking lots would be full.」

「The hotel is old but very nicely maintained and uniquely decorated; great food in the bar/restaurant, though a bit pricey for a very small community like this. Staff are helpful as well.」

「Lovely place to stay. The lady who greeted was very friendly. Room was big and the bed was very comfortable. It took a while for room to heat up as I hadn’t realised all the thermostats were turned off. I had a bit of disturbed sleep as I stayed when it was very heavy rain/ windy so the windows were rattling (understandable as it’s an old building). I would recommend staying here as it’s very affordable. 」

「My boyfriend and I stayed for 3 days and have zero faults! The entire place was incredibly clean and the beds were SO comfortable. On top of that, Tracey was lovely! The breakfasts were all expertly made (I made my way through a couple of them) and the entire stay had a homely feel that didn’t feel overpowering. The room had amenities most hotels don’t provide, including Prime, Disney, Netflix and NowTV logged in on the tv. The venue is bang in the middle of old town and literally a stones...

「Comfortable room and staff helpful. Unfortunately Room 7 shower door leaks. Not a problem for having a shower, but I think the owner might want to repair it. Other than that a very nice hotel. 」
