Overall our stay was okay, nothing was terribly wrong with our stay but it was by no means an elevated experience. We opted for the platinum family suite with a swim-out room for our family. Upon arrival we checked in through the platinum lounge which was nice and quick, although we were informed our room was not ready even though it was after check in time and were advised just to come back in an hour. Nothing was explained at check in about where to eat or what to do and there was no information in the room so it was left to us to wander around trying to figure things out. There is no real additional perks for paying for platinum level so I would advise against that, service around around the pools was very slow and it was quicker just to get drinks yourself even if that meant standing in line for half an hour. There are no designated platinum areas around the pool so if you don’t go first thing in the morning to leave a towel or personal items you won’t get a spot. The lunch spot had a nice variety but there wasn’t anywhere to just get easy snacks to have around the pool, you had to go to a specific building and again wait in lineups. In the platinum lounge you could get better liquor but they had no mix so again you had to go get a glass of whatever liquor you wanted then go wait in the bar line to add any mixes or ice you needed. Very nice resort clean and friendly staff. Hard ti get reservations at the restaurants which was frustrating since you have to make them when you get there and you can’t make them yourself. Ww were told that they were totally booked several times but then when we got there we could see many empty seats. The all inclusive thing is not great if you can’t get inti the restaurants. Otherwise it was great

We upgraded when we got there to a beautiful 2 bedroom with jacuzzi. We had a partial ocean view. It was our second visit to this resort. The first time was the Marina El Cid and this time the Ventus at El Cid. We enjoyed both but Ventus rooms are newer.

We stayed here for a week (family vacation). The food was absolutely delicious and the staff very friendly. You need to make dinner reservations but there’s plenty of options to choose from. Most of the pools were a bit cold but that’s to be expected mid-February. We would definitely come back again!

It’s been our second year here. The place is nice and quiet. You have buffet options but it’s hard to make a reservation to a restaurant. If you want a pristine beach, don’t go here! They are working hard to clean it but the seaweed can be overwhelming ( and smelly!) Pools are wonderful though ( I wish they were heated like last year). Staff is wonderful - friendly and courteous!

Room was beautiful, the staff and locals were all so amazing, welcoming and friendly. I always felt super safe and taken care of the entire time. I highly recommend! This place is fabulous and the people here make it even more beautiful and amazing!

Our visit to Ventus Ha was 4 out of 5. The grounds have lush vegetation. I was shocked that I didn't get any mosquito bites with all the water features and I always get bitten. Food- specialty restaurants were superb. Italian-get the swordfish! Margarita pizza, clam chowder were great too.A'kat-the chicken at lunch was our fave. That bread with green sauce! Ask for Elvis.French-quiche Lorraine, onion soup,pork loin & creme brule. Room service is 24hrs and it was top tier. Cheese quesadillas and cheesecake hit the spot. Drinks- chahouk at waves bar was our fave. Margaritas were good. Specify a particular brand. El Jimador tequila, Barcelo solera rum were our choices. Dos equis on tap. Pools - plenty of options but unfortunately they were cold. We spent our time in the largest hot tubs we've ever seen. Towel cards are a bummer. Rooftop pool had plenty of places to relax with a bar but no food. Beach is nice to look at but not swimmable due to the seaweed and the large barriers. Kept seeing kids slide on the barriers because of algae. Room - cleaned daily with thick duvet and blankets. Pillows were heavenly. Plenty of soap, lotion & bug repellent was a nice touch. Hated the room key is a card. Loved the chain for the door. Tip the mini bar attendant for extra beer. Use of all 3 properties was a plus. Golf carts always willing to give you a ride. Please tip a dollar or 2. Negative-buffets are very limited & not good. Beef wellington was cold. Breakfast was very lacking.
