"Really enjoyed it and it’s in a good location for pubs and for the bus out. The room was clean, however sofa isn’t comfortable and neither is the bed, leaving no comfort whatsoever which would have been nice when your tired travelling around the lakes. The light from the emergency exit also made it really hard to sleep. The key for the door needs fixing. It took us atleast 5 minutes everytime to get in, I believe the key is twisted but needs replacing. Overall I think it’s worth the money...

"Great site, wonderful cabin, so lovely and clean. Bedding was beautiful and bed was great. Everything you needed and well stocked. Best settee we’ve had and we have stayed in a few log cabins, Most are near to the floor but this was excellent. Thankyou to Julie for the wine. "

"Stayed in the Royalist Suite for a short break with our daughter and found the place just totally amazing. Stephanie was friendly and provided accurate local and check in information. Orton Hall, and the Royalist Suite are stunning and just next level opulence. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need, but we hardly used it, as the George pub is literally 5 minutes walk and the food fab, with a very friendly landlors and staff. "The property is undoubtedly small. It was very clean and comfortable - a perfect base for exploring this wonderful area. Plenty of grocery stores and pubs/restaurants in surrounding area. "We had a fantastic stay in Ambleside, largely due to the location of this property. A 5 minute walk from the centre of town and lots of restaurants and pubs but far enough away from the centre to be private. Amazing views. A little difficult to find in the first place but once we located it, all was good! Thank you!"

"I had a great stay,I booked the unit a day before my arrival and once booked I received all the check in info immediately, no key was needed all acess is through a keypad system which is nice.The unit was very spacious and cozy,I really liked the kitchen set-up,Carlisle is a wonderful city and fun to explore and the apartment was only a 5 minute walk to the train station."

"We stayed here with our four 20-something children, their partners and our mothers to celebrate a few birthdays. The house is a great size for our group. Bedrooms very comfortable, bathrooms great and the kitchen a good space. The living room and dining room are also great sizes for large groups. If there was only one downside it would be that the house would benefit from a refreshen-up, but everything worked for us for our stay, and we would stay again!!"

Woodlands guest house, Windermere

"Two rooms for 3 people. What a wonderful friendly place. Stayed for 2 nights, the location is really good for location to travel by car or public transport. The guest house itself is really clean, staff super friendly ,lovely rooms and a great breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and we will definitely go back again "

Fantastic little MiniMoon

"We booked here using our Tesco vouchers, as a little ‘minimoon’! We booked a standard room but messaged the hotel to explain we’d be married two days before coming and if they could do anything that’d be great. We got an upgrade to a lake view suit which was fantastic. The best part of this hotel is the staff. They were amazing! So attentive, friendly and helpful. The location is superb as a base or for exploring Windermere! The restaurant is pricey but food was delicious. They only have an all day menu available at the moment which was a little up market for someone looking for a snack. Breakfast is buffet style and all delicious. You could choose from an array of food, full fry up to continental. There are no leisure facilities ie a pool which I think would really make the hotel. We had a free drink voucher each night as we didn’t have housekeeping which was a lovely touch. Overall, would highly recommend and return! "

"Crown and mitre does not disappoint great location even though there is building work going on outside the hotel it doesn’t affect yr break and we will look forward to our next visit when it will be completed, the staff are first class we have got to know them well they can’t do enough for you x"
