"Hotel Entertainment Crew was Amazing!"

"This place has fallen dramatically in quality, and it’s the last time we’ll stay there—after half a dozen stays at Secrets and Dreams in Cozumel. We had the most expensive room in the resort (top floor suite with plunge pool), and things didn’t work, they forgot to clean the room, maintenance requests took three calls, etc. After complaining, they assigned a “guest relations” guy to try to smooth things over. We had four rooms, and one of the kids’ rooms had water leaking from the ceiling with chunks of paint. Avoid this place!!"

"If you’re a first timer for all inclusive, adult only resorts, this is the place for you. With several restaurants and bars on the property, a huge pool, a cafe, a buffet for anytime of the day, a spa, a sushi bar upstairs with another pool, a 24/7 gym, and an open beach front, you cannot go wrong with Wyndham Alltra at Playa del Carmen. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive to your needs. Service was excellent with food, drinks, and housekeeping. Right on the shoreline, you’re a one minute walk away from the famous “5th Avenue” for entertainment and shopping. The neighbourhood is quiet during the day and lively at night. Great programming with dance lessons, salsa making, games, karaoke and so forth. Some downsides include the constant sargassum (seaweed) that washes up on the shore every day. The smell can get a bit bad and can be a bit of an eyesore, but for my partner and I, it wasn’t a dealbreaker. Resort staff are constantly cleaning it and there is plenty of beachfront on other properties nearby to enjoy the view. Another downside we experienced was the lack of money exchange. While everyone should be prepared to exchange their currency to either Mexican pesos or American dollars, there were limited options on exchanging for smaller denominations which is critical if you are tipping. Otherwise, the rooms were prepared and maintained beautifully, the food was great and we had no issues nor did we get sick. Would visit again for a second time!"

"Enjoyed our stay. The Activities Staff was amazing (shout out to Leo, Leslie, Paola, Natalia, Davina, and Jorge) and we enjoyed the beach, pool, and evening entertainment. Check in was fine, it it would have been helpful to know that we would have a building concierge who would give us all the specific details (Building 18- Michelle Ramirez was fantastic!). Beautiful property and it met our expectations. "

"When we first arrived, we were a little shocked with our room. It is not what is depicted in the photos. This hotel has been “touched-up” far too long, and is in need of a proper doing-over. That being said, once we accepted that our room wasn’t what we thought (towels are very old, bedsheets are very worn and sometimes stained) and the beds are well-worn in as well, we decided to make the most of it. We’re happy we did. The hotel is clean, the food is delicious. It takes a long time to get the food if you order it, and the buffet is very small. Do not expect a buffet like you would at a big named resort. This hotel is locally owned. It seems to generate a lot of income, but that income should be used to do some updating and repairs. We had 4 staff members that really went above and beyond for us. We adored them. In the dining area, it was Ruby, José and Alejandro. At the tourism desk, Roberto was lovely and very helpful. The beach is amazing, and the snorkelling was way beyond our expectations. Overall, we did enjoy our stay, and, if the price is right, we would go again. "
