「This cottage was great for our family. It is located right on the river bank in a quiet area. The living room and kitchen were roomy, and the bedrooms plenty big.It was clean and well stocked with kitchen ware, and paper products.The outside area was great for sitting as a group, having an evening around the fire pit, or sticking your feet in the river. We had paddle boarders and swimmers with us that took advantage of being riverside. Nobody brought a fishing pole, so I don’t know about fishing...

「We've stayed at two vacation rentals on Big Traverse Bay since 2019. Not only is this venue the best, but it has all the amenities and couple who host the property are a joy. This is the first time in four years we've had internet, and it really made a difference for our family get away (especially when it rained steadily for two days). My only hesitation in recommending a stay to everyone--if I'm being selfish--is availability for future visits. ;-) Thank you, Ann!」

「This was a great last minute booking for us when we found Houghton did not have snow less than a week before our trip. We quick booked this knowing we would have to trailer our snowmobiles north and we were ok with it. There was a good bar nearby. The only slight issue is communication when we were not getting a response through the app. I finally found a number on an email and was able to communicate that was. Even with that it was a great extended weekend!」

「My wife and 4 kids, aged 7-16, stayed for nights. PROS: We loved the location, easy to get to Marquette and other sites. Kids loved the table games. Kitchen was well stocked with all kinds of utensils dishes, etc and things, like a soft-sided cooler we could bring along for picnic lunches at waterfalls. 「Our family had a great time staying at the sunshine shack! Lots of room, never felt like we were on top of each other. The basement game area was great for our teens and adults. Extra fridge in the garage made storing everyone’s food simple. The park across the street was great for the younger kids and a family game of kickball.
