“Dinner at the restaurant is fantastic! The Chocolate tour (5 min walk) was a great mid morning tour and very interesting - make and eat your own chocolate! The walk up to La Fortuna was challenging so ask for a ride of you need one. The owner was incredibly helpful and was able to get me a day pass to Baldi Springs for the locals rate :) ”

“This location was the ideal place for for my multi-generational family vacation. The property is gorgeous and we especially liked the pool and surrounding garden — it was a beautiful oasis for afternoon breaks. The staff was so attentive— I think there was a moment where I whatsapp’d them and they were on site within minutes! “This home was exactly what we needed, close to downtown La Fortuna yet away from the noise. The house has 2 bedrooms with doble beds and TV’s and one loft with 2 twin beds. The bathroom has hot/cold water and the host provides shampoo, conditioner and shower gel.

“Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay at Cabanas Rio Escondido. The property is beautiful, and the pools were nice for relaxing in after a day exploring La Fortuna. Our family apartment had two balconies - one in front and one in back facing the river. Check-in and check out were easy, and we appreciated the recommendations for transportation and restaurants. ”

“If you are staying in La Fortuna, I cannot imagine a better option. We used it as a home base for all the usual activities in the area. For meals, we could cook right there (the Super Rosvil market is a short walk away) or we could go out to eat - there's Mario's place on the next corner for easy food, or an easy walk to downtown for lots of other options). Secure parking at the apartment beat trying to find parking in town.

“My husband and I enjoyed our stay in a bungalow at Hotel Tangara Arenal. The bungalow was beautifully furnished with everything we needed and the lush tropical trees surrounding it gave us privacy. We felt like we were on our own private retreat.
For our free breakfast, the Tangara offered a breakfast menu with several great choices. We were really impressed with that!
We also ate at the restaurant the first night and the seafood pasta was excellent.

“Amazing place! It is a little outside the town with an amazing view of the volcano. The property was so relaxing with a pool and shaded areas to hang out. So many birds and a beautiful garden! The actual room was good for sleeping and making simple meals but we spent most of our time outdoors on the property. Would stay again!”
