“We booked a one-night experience for ourselves, our two sons and their respective wives at this highly rated facility as part of our vacation. We arrived early for our check-in, so one of three rooms was available which was fine. The rooms were large but had a musty smell when we entered. The bed was comfortable, but most of the amenities are dated. That said, this was meant to be a “lodge”, so our expectations may have been too high. “The inn was very lovely with nice surroundings and clean rooms. It was bit odd to have a chair place adjacent to the gas fireplace but since it was so warm out the fireplace was not used. The bed was comfy, the ground pretty and the location very quiet.”

“The Occidental Lodge is a very charming, old-school lodge that is well-maintained and absolutely spotless. My favorite part was that there were no smells at all in the room, which I loved!The lodge is located in a tiny, quiet town that I would describe as a micro-country town. If you are planning a weekday stay, just keep in mind that the only things open are a little market and a breakfast café that closes at 3:00 PM. All of the other little restaurants nearby are only open Friday, Saturday,……

“Could not even check. My money was totally wasted. Made the reservation after 10 and didn't read the fine print that I would need to make arrangements with the hotel before 9 to get keys! Why did Expedia and the hotel take my money when I drove all that way and wasted that money for nothing! Extremely frustrating experience. Guess you always have to read the fine print. Corporate America is all too happy to steal your hard-earned money!”

“We came in winter and we were the only one group of guest on that day. Room is not large but enough for two people. Water pressure for shower is not as good as normal hotel, which may due to their location.”
