"The hotel is historic and beautiful. The family that runs it is friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is decent and on site. We rented a suite and it was very spacious. The kitchen cabinets were empty and we couldn’t get wine glasses from the restaurant to enjoy the bottle of wine we brought to have with dinner from the restaurant that we ate in our room. There is no pool which would be nice at a resort as big as that. "

"Mostly good for a Howard Johnsons. Nothing to set apart either good or bad experience wise. Mostly middle of the road. Biggest issues were our door key cards stopped working everyday. Had to either get new keys or have them reset at least 5 times. The bathroom fixtures were also loose."

"Great stay! Clean and comfortable. Staff, especially Haven, at the desk were helpful and polite. Asked for a specific room when I booked reservation and it was waiting for me when arrived. Pool was fantastic as was breakfast. If there was one note to make it would be better selection on TV channels. Will always stay here when in the Roanoke area!"
