"Really neat renovation of an old bank. Large rooms-especially the bathroom! Food in restaurant very good and service from all, especially the concierge the host and our waitress. A bit spendy but fun. Try to sit in the vault."

"This is a gem of the National Park Service, not so much for its rooms which are clean but basic, but for the incredibly lovely surroundings. The lake has a paved path around it, the sounds of birds fill your ears as soon as you open your patio or balcony door, and the lovely vistas of lake, trees, and mountains are so totally calming and relaxing. It’s about 12 miles from Bedford, VA and the amazing National D-Day Museum, on an easy but winding road in the Blue Ridge Mts. "

"Inexpensive, rural setting, nice desk staff. No cold water in sink (very hot water , difficult to even wash hands). Toilet wouldn’t refill to flush, had to add water to tank using a paper cup. Small leak from back of sink left puddle on floor. "
