"The scenery is gorgeous, the hotel is very chic and cool. The location is not in the main downtown area; it's not walkable. The room was small-ish, but very cute. It was clean and the shower products were great. The mini bar was outrageous and there was no complimentary coffee or water. The pools were both lovely, but I wasn't expecting the loud music or $25 piña coladas. The hotel restaurant was prohibitively expensive; the blueberry muffins were $12 and drip coffee was $7 for a small cup. Again, no complimentary coffee in the lobby or anything. There are Ace-branded items, like apparel, for sale near the front desk, but the sweatshirts were $155. I don't know, maybe that's reasonable to some people... Some of the staff was great, but most of the employees that we encountered were generally not very helpful. I asked about a tourist attraction (a well-known one), and the person at the front desk told me that she hadn't been there and didn't know anything about it. I expect the concierge at a four-star hotel to be able to make recommendations on local attractions. As far as the actual condition of the hotel, the toilet in our room moved every time I sat on it and there are light fixtures hanging out of the ceiling outside of the main entrance. We didn't have any maid service because we didn't ask for it, I guess? (We stayed multiple nights.) Overall, it was a nice trip, but I expected excellence from the Ace and it was kind of average with a realllllllllly high price tag."
