"Great hotel and restaurant. Would highly recommend."

"Stay was absolutely fabulous. Upgraded my room to a King and the comfort didn't disappoint. The staff were always friendly and knowledgable for restaurant pick or as for me I needed to do laundry and the staff promptly let me know how to get to the Washing Well. Shame I had such a short stay. Only thing I wish I knew is where the non slip mat would be found, the bath tubs are slippery when wet."

"Lovely room but restaurant service is slow. Lots of time when there was no one in the restaurant. At breakfast we sat down on our own accord as there was no one around,after what seemed like a long time, I got us the menus and eventually someone came to take the order. They need more staff and better trained staff."

"Had a lovely stay, was a drop of the hat booking. Lots of shops if you have forgotten anything. Staff was lovely especially Chris the night porter who couldn't do enough to help. Was biker friendly also due to the weather they let us stay an extra hour. The Breakfast was 2nd to none and breakfast staff where lovely didnt know the lady chef but she was very helpful and kept me loaded with coffee" she knows who she ls! "This hotel is a pub with rooms above. It is a period building so has it's quirks but that adds to it's charm. Our room was spacious & bathroom was very clean. Other furnishings a little tired & electrics need updating as extension leads with multiple sockets pose a safety issue. Food was excellent & staff were amazing. Definitely would stay again as in a great location in town. "

"The staff were super friendly. The property could do with a bit of a makeover but that didn’t put us off. We had great food both for tea and breakfast and a good sleep in a spacious room! Great value for money. "

"I had a wonderful 2 night stay with my father. Booked this hotel from NewZealand. Warm Welcome , friendly staff & very unique interesting building. Views amazing from the room 302 Beautiful heritage building set in park like grounds with golf club. All staff excellent & Zoe very helpful with queries later evening ; night time."

"Service and food excellent. Room a little tired. Windows dirty and need maintenance. View over courtyard. No parking so had to pay at the carpark behind. Bit of Walk in the rain. Food was exceptional. Room could do with a little tic. "

"We were given a disability room off the car park so not in the main building. So no view of anything except a fence 18” from our window. Not sure why hotels think people with disabilities don’t need a surface to put their toiletries on in the bathroom. I find this in every room of this category we’ve stayed in. "

"I’ve left several reviews for this hotel, the main issue I always find is the lack of staff at busier times, I spoke to one member who was in charge of the reception, bar and restaurant, this is fine if the hotel is very quiet but not so good when busy. Rooms are great though, fairly limited breakfast but enough for my needs."
