"I always stay at the Grand Hyatt when I visit Melbourne. Unfortunately this stay wasn’t as I remembered it. The staff member who checked me in was dry I didn't get a nice welcome. He said Hello and then proceeded to check me in. I noticed the lady next to him checked in someone and asked about their day and their stay. "It is in a laneway so not the grand entranve style hotel, but only one street away from trams, pubs, coffee shops and food. All within the free tram zone, which is an excellent service the city of Melbourne provides. "The hotel had a quirky and pleasant vibe. Despite not fitting in with the trendy crowd that seemed to frequent the place, we felt warmly welcomed by the staff. The hotel decor predominantly consisted of black shades, which lent a unique look to the place. However, the dark-colored lifts could be a bit intimidating for anyone with a fear of them.
